      Hey There! Newbie Here.

Hey there my names Erwin and I just joined the site today. It's pretty funny how I found this site. I friend on Facebook posted a picture about lucid dreaming (not very detailed) but it looked really interesting. So I Google "lucid dreaming" found a yahoo question and got sent here ha ha.

After reading all I can about lucid dreaming, I remembered that I've been able to do this like once or twice before and actually remembered it (unconsciously of course). So it says that most teenagers get frustrated at this because they just want to have sex in the dream immediately or something like that. So hopefully I don't have a hard time trying this because in all honestly I just want to have conversations with my subconscious and see what's in there, and then take it from there lol.

Sorry didn't mean to write a lot, but just wanted to share how I found this site, anyways I hope that I can come to you guys for help if I need it, which I definitely will. Any tips that you guys could give a beginner like me?

Heya. Welcome to DV and all that jazz.

Tips, eh? Well, the best tip I can give you is to learn as much as you can, but be careful about misinformation. I'm guessing that pic you saw was the WILD one I saw floating about recently, yeah?

A great place to start learning about LDing would be here. Puffin does a great job of covering all the basics and giving you plenty of reference material to start you off with. Just pick a topic that interests you and dig in. XP

      Almighty Taco-lord, welcome!
If you want helpful tips, i'd recommend picking out a technique first so we can give more specific information. Some key things that apply for all techniques: consistency and patience! Do not give up a technique after two weeks because it hasn't shown results - some techniques may take up to a couple of months for it to show frequent and steady progress.
As for the lucid sex thing, it's really not that common. I'm also a teenager and i haven't spent a whole lucid solely on sex yet. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to PM me~ Other than that, welcome again

Any questions about lucid dreaming? Drop me a PM here!

I can already see a war floating on the horizon between TacoKing and KingOfTheTacos. I wonder which side will claim the tacos?

I saw that picture, it really bugs me because it describes what many people find to be the hardest way of inducing lucid dreams and to be honest, it barely even describes WHAT lucid dreaming is at all. Many people at my school have seen it, and I've heard their conversations about it, and they don't even know what they're trying to achieve by "lying completely still and waiting for an itch but NOT falling asleep."

The whole lucid sex thing is a good reason why you should try and think up a plan or a goal for what you want to do when you get lucid. I (and I'm sure other people can agree) have wasted too many by getting lucid and then wondering what I should do or flying off straight away with no particular goal.

All in all, I hope you stick with it. It really is something fun to do. And don't the best things in life require more effort? Just stay positive, you'll get there eventually

Yeah that's the pic I saw lol. Yup, like I said I've been browsing this stie a lot and I read that beginner's guide and more. I tried MILD last night, but I don't really know if it's for me because I always have trouble going to sleep if I concentrate on a thought or something. I can't even go to sleep if I start concentrating on my breathing, so idk if Mild is the best choice for me or not, any thoughts? I also couldn't recall any dreams from last night, so I don't even know if it worked or not. I guess it's cause my aunt called and woke me up and needed a favor, so I didn't even think about whether or not I could remember the dreams.

Yeah thanks for the welcomes guys, I really plan on sticking with this, but i really hope it doesn't take like a year because I don't really think I'll be able to stick with it that long.

      Welcome to the site!

For starters, I would recommend you get your dream recall up. You can do that by writing in your dream journal. You write in it, even if all you can remember is just few words or feelings. It let your mind know, that dreaming and remembering your dreams is important to you. This will help you, no matter which technique you'll pick.

Many people start with MILD ( daytime awareness, reality checks, mantras). This is a good technique, because most of the work you do during daytime. Before bed, you just say your mantra a couple of times, as you falling asleep. It should be the last thought before you fall asleep, but not to the point, when it keeps you awake. I'm sure, you'll find the balance between saying mantra and falling asleep.

Each time you practice MILD, you should really think about it, not just mindlesly repeating the mantra or asking yourself if you are dreaming. Read all the tutorials you find. You will be surprised, how much info you'll recall in your lucid dream, and possibly even in regular dream.

      Good luck to you!

Welcome to the site! You sound exactly like me - I too am a teenager and remembered lucid dreaming a few times by accident in the past, before I knew what lucidity was. I then did a bit of research into it and joined around christmas time. I've been pretty neglectful of my lucidity 'training', and obviously haven't seen any results apart from an increase in dream recall. So my tip I guess would be to commit fully - which I plan to do next week when I get back from my trip. Maybe we could each make sure the other keeps at it and doesn't get lazy! LUCIDITY BUDDIES

I also saw that picture, that's what brought me here, the one which tries to get you to WILD, well looking back on that now I'm glad I didn't try it because it's not very helpful.
      Hope to see you around.
