Hello world - am i doing the LD right?

hi everyone. i'd like to tell a story on how i began the LD thing, and hopefully, that one of you experienced dreamers will tell me if i am on the right course.

sooo.... about a week ago i had a nightmare, and after google did hos job, i found out what it was; sleep paralysis. i was dreaming that i was lying in my bed, and that there is a witch trying to possess my body. i couldn't move or anything... an awful feeling (i think you know ), and i wanted to learn how to deal with it if i had such nightmare again.

thats how i started learning about the lucid dreaming. day by day, i was more into that, and i definetly tried to give it a shot.

an important thing: i didn't do a dream journal, but i remembered all my dreams for the past week and i was telling them to random friends.

and so, this morning, i woke up after about 6 hours of sleep, and the first thing that came to my mind was: maybe i should try to LD now. however, i didn't want it to. i was like, i think i should prepare for it a bit more, this is was too early. but i couldn't stop thinking about it.

as i was falling to sleep, my arms and legs started to feel really weird, and it was so hard to move them. then, before my eyes, scenes about football started to appear (?). they became more and more vivid, and at one moment, i just asked myself: dadomon, why dont you step in there?

and so i did, i suddenly found myself on the football field, surrounded by other players. and then i thought, what a lame football field this is; i'm going to wembley. and out of nowhere, the stands came up, and i was at wembley, wearing my national team shirt. at that moment, i got too excited and got out of my dream - into a stage of sleep paralysis. i didnt panic then, i remembered that i read a trick on how to end the sleep paralysis; by stopping to breathe, and so i did.

anyway, i would like you to comment: could this be the start of my lucid dreams? am i on the right way?

or this has nothing to do with the LD.

      thanks in advance, cheers

Way to go! You figured out how to enter a lucid dream from the pictures that formed behind your eyelids. It took me couple of month to figure that out! Awesome job.

So, now you know what to do. Wake up after at least 4.5 hours of sleep, stay up anywhere from 5 min to 1 hour, lay down and wait for the images and then enter them. The weird feelings and difficulty to move was sleep paralysis - you get that when you dream. You kept your cool, were not scared and you got your WILD!

Read up about dream stabilization to help you stay in the dream longer.

Since you know how to WILD, another good method to try is MILD (daytime awarenes, reality checks and mantras). This technique will give you lucid dreams called DILDs. For these, you don't need to get up at night, they can happen anytime, when you dream.

And writing your dreams in a dream journal will help you with both techniques. It will tell your mind, that dreams and remembering them is important to you. Also, when you read your older dreams, you can find patterns and recognize your dream signs.

Happy dreams and welcome to DV!
