Well, the tuts are right, we do wake up briefly after each dream cycle, but we usually just turn to the other side without noticing it. There is couple of things you can do to wake up/notice.
1. Write your dreams in a dream journal. Even if all you remember are few words or feelings. This will let your mind know, that dreaming and remembering them is important to you and it will help you achieve it. Keep your DJ with a flashlight where you can reach it easily.
2. Drink water before going to bed and everytime you wake up. It will wake you to go to the restroom, most likely right after your REM/dream is over. Tha's a great chance to write in your dream journal, even if only some keywords.
3. As you falling asleep, repeat a mantra 'I remember my dreams', or 'I remember my dreams and wake up after each dream'.
Remembering your dreams is important for lucid dreamer. I bet, your LD count will go up with your recall. Happy dreams
