Returning to LDing, thought I'd stop lurking

      Howdy Oneironauts,

I'm Jason, long time lurker of these forums and always had an interest in lucid dreaming but never really got around to properly attempting it. Over the last week I've started more serious attempts at lucid dreaming and doing pretty well so far, remember dreams every night and starting to feel suspicious of my environment in the dream world. No lucid dreams as of yet though.

      A little about me:
I'm a freelance graphic & web designer from the South-East of the UK, not doing much with my life currently as all my money is going into my travel-the-world fund.

Hope to start posting more and joining in with this community!

      Welcome to DV!

It's good that you remember your dreams. You should be writing them down. It will help you find patterns, dream signs and also tells your mind that you mean business.

Are you practicing any daytime awareness, reality checks, mantras? Those would all help in getting you lucid. Post any questions and happy dreams

      Welcome to DreamViews!

What gab said, writing down dreams really helps out a lot! Recall is the first step to lucidity!

      Enjoy the forum!

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome!

I am writing down my dreams, been keeping a dream journal through the entire experience. I've yet to look through and figure out my dream signs though, I figured I'd wait until I have a good selection of dreams. My only problem with remembering dreams is as I mentioned in my other thread, I'd post a link but I haven't been a member for 7 days.

I read the thread on here about "All Day Awareness" and feel like I have always utilised this ability, for as long as I remember. I'm always noticing subtle things that most people aren't. Reality checks I've been doing frequently whenever anything seems weird or just when I remember to do them, a decent amount per day though. I also read the thread on here about Mantras and have been using them every night whilst going to sleep, I never remember to do any during the day though.

I had my very first lucid dream last night using the SSILD method posted by CosmicIron on this forum, in fact. It was an incredible experience. I was approached by a white fox which for some reason seemed really suspicious and mystical to me, so I performed a reality check. I had 6 fingers and immediately had a false awakening, luckily I've already got into the habit of performing reality checks each time I wake up so I almost immediately knew what was happening and stood up out of bed. I noticed how shockingly realistic yet still dreamy it looked, so I rubbed my hands together and decided I was going to try flying. I walked up to my wall and passed through it, I noticed how tight everything felt while passing through the wall, it was quite a unique feeling. I floated down from the second level of my house into the garden, noticing the grass gliding against my bare feet, I couldn't get over how realistic it was. I noticed the dream seemed kind of "dark" so I attempted to brighten it, but this just created blinding effect and I felt like I was losing the dream so I toned it back down (this eventually went away the more I got into the dream anyway). I proceeded to jump into the air to try and fly, which I failed at to begin with and just managed to hop over a fence. I tried a second time and floated up into the sky amongst the clouds, looking down on all the houses and scenery, seeing the curvature of the earth. It was quite surreal. I flew around for a bit, but noticed I struggled to actually turn in mid-air, I ended up almost crashing into a building. I stopped flying momentarily and tried to use some "telekinetic" powers to smash windows from afar, but nothing seemed to be happening. After this I began to lose lucidity and things became blurred, I walked through a building and when I reached the other side, it had completely changed back to a normal dream (though a pretty cool one, regardless).
