      I am new here,need support

Hey guys, first of all it's great to find out so many people are dreaming lucidly.
I am new to this, and have recently started reading the book,Exploring The World Of Lucid Dreaming by Dr Stephen La Berge. The concept of Lucid Dreaming really fascinated me,and since I heard about it I have been reading about it a lot.But read about Sleep Paralysis recently and was wondering if inducing Lucid Dreams can cause trouble in my sleeps and cause sleep paralysis.
Besides I have a few more fears like, what if I am not the guy who should enter Lucid dreaming, since I heard about Lucid Dreaming and am exploring it,I came across a few frightening articles on sleep paralysis and now when I go to sleep I feel scary, and that fear makes it normal things seem scary, like if someone opens my door,I get frightened for a second,or if my curtain touches my head etc.
I also get thoughts of someone opening my door and entering my room, thought it isn't scary and I have never felt it real but a repeted thought of a tall beast opening my door comes in mind, which I know is not real.
So I wonder if I should still continue, maybe LD can make me mad if it goes on like this

You can still induce lucid dreams without experiencing sleep paralysis. DILD (Dream Induced Lucid Dream) and MILD (Mnemonically Induced Lucid Dream) focus on you becoming aware from inside a dream, so you would be able to fall asleep like you normally do. Techniques like WILD (Wake Initiated Lucid Dream) and DEILD (Dream Exit Initiated Lucid Dream) may cause you to experience sleep paralysis. If you really are afraid of sleep paralysis then you should stay away from WILD and DEILD for now. Look around the tutorials section of the forums or the wiki for MILD and DILD techniques. I think they will be best suited for you.

The only techique I ca imagine, involve sleep paralysis, is the WILD technique. And that technique is not recomended for beginners! Try the WBTB(Wake Back To Bed), MILD (Mnemonically Induced Lucid Dream), or the DILD (Dream Induced Lucid Dream). You can find very good tutorials on theese techniques on dreamviews!

Clean room, clean mind as they say. Cleaning the clutter out of your room might help. Also good advice from Oreo and Apple - DV Tutorials - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views

      Welcome to DV!

Although sleep paralysis can be scary experience, there is no need to worry about it. Couple of reasons:

      - everybody gets into SP every night when we sleep. We are paralyzed, so we don't act out our dreams and get hurt.
      - you don't have to go through SP to lucid dream. As it was mentioned in previous posts, technique called MILD/DILD has nothing to do with experiencing SP.
      - there is nothing in SP, that can hurt you.
      - some people don't have anything scary happening to them during SP and when WILDing.

So check out the MILD/DILD tutorials in DV Wiki and give it a try. You won't be disappointed. Happy dreams
