      Hello, I'm new around here.

Hey DV, You can me Zaven. Nice to meet you. (I came here because I heard there were extremely nice, and helpful people here.)

OK, with the pleasantries out of the way. I want to explain my previous experiences with everything having to do with Lucid Dreaming and me. First of all I have a great deal of trouble attaining a lucid dream. I have only had one before and that was before I was aware of what a lucid dream was, the LD I had intrigued me so much that I searched about it and found out it was called a lucid dream and ever since I have been fascinated by them. I have kept a Dream Journal in the past and it did increase my dream recall by a LOT, but I have slipped away from that for some time now, and I can't remember having any dreams since then. (Even though I know everyone has many dreams every night) I just can't recall at all now. I've lost my old Dream Journal and have started a new one, but can't recall my dreams so it is left empty at my bedside.

Thanks for reading and I hope to see all of you around.

Hi saved and welcome to DV
Get yourself a new dream diary, write down any old dreams you can remember, only about 2 of them this will click your brain into remembering those dreams and make it think about remembering the ones from here on. As you go to sleep just repeat to yourself " tonight I will remember my dream" this way you are telling you subconscious to remember them and when you first wake just spend a few minutes lying there trying to remember and write down anything that comes to mind, even if it's just one thing and if you can't remember nothing then write that in your journal and slowly you will start to remember ((hope I'm not rambling as I sometimes do lol)) also try doing some reality checks through the day or just ask yourself " am I dreaming" or " is this a dream" this will after a while carry on into your dreams and will help you to become lucid. Hope this helps a little and please keep us updated on your progress good luck friend

Thanks for your suggestions, I remembered about 4 dreams from my old journal and I already recalled a dream last night. I really hope I can build up the journal so I can start Lucid training real soon.

That's a good idea, Angie. I hadn't realized that writing down and remembering old dreams would help one remember new dreams. Good suggestion!

Hello Zaven, welcome to DV! Once your dream recall comes back, I'm sure you'll have an easier time with lucid dreaming. How long ago was your first LD? Keeping a dream journal is a great step towards becoming lucid, but would you care to share what else you have been doing to induce lucid dreams? We can give you a few tips if you'd like.

This forum also has a sub-forum called the DV Academy. This is a list of their current courses. Some of the courses cover induction techniques, other cover general lucid dreaming, and a few are more advanced courses. Feel free to sign up for a course that you think could benefit you. Each course has 1-3 experienced LDers who can give you tips and answer your questions.

I'll also link you to one of my current favorite threads: Mancon's Common Mistakes that Prevent People From Becoming Lucid

      Good luck!

How long ago was my first LD... Hm... I'd say in early 2011 and that's when I became interested in Lucid dreaming, but I just started to get interested in it again as before I never started to actually induce lucid dreams (besides telling myself before I went to bed that it was possible and hope for beginners luck) because my dream recall was not good enough. Thanks for the suggestion and I will head over to that Academy section and browse through it for a bit. Also thanks for the link to the common mistakes thread, I often find that threads that tell you what not to do help a LOT more than ones that tell you what to do.
