Exclamation Introduction, Questions, Not a complete noob.

Hello. I'm Keqs. If you really care (which you most likely don't) more information about me is available on my profile.

Okay so I'd like to point out that I have been lurking this website for quite some time, so I'm not really far behind if we shall say so. Yes, I do keep a dream journal.

Now, I have a couple of questions.
Last night I attempted a WILD 3 hours after sleep (I am getting a few mixed messages here since apparently night is the worst time but at the same time my body is supposed to be very tired, which seems sort of difficult if I would try to WILD in the middle of the day. I also hear about setting an alarm or somehow waking up after a REM cycle, which I still have trouble with knowing).
Now the problem is that I have troubles with entering SP and I really can't recall one time that I have entered it while being conscious. However, this time was different. I felt more numb and my mind sort of "zoomed in" and my body felt larger. Gosh this made more sense in my head. And it was going pretty well and then suddenly JESUS CHRIST YOU'RE FALLING YOU WILL DIE RIGHT NOW. Yeah, I had a hypnic jerk during a WILD attempt. Is this progress or was it just something that conveniently occurred while I tried a WILD. If this means I was closer to sleep paralysis how do I remain relaxed while I am being flung mercilessly to the ground at terminal velocity?

On another point, I was mentioning that I have troubles with entering SP and I was wondering if I should perhaps just stop trying WILDs for now and go for DILDs. Will I get better at WILDs if I do this or is it just a lost cause? The thing about DILDs though is that it seems quite random and I'm having troubles there as well. I swear there must have been a day where I did a RC every 5 seconds. Nah, that's an exaggeration. But in all seriousness. I don't seem to do reality checks in dreams even though I did them every day for a long time (given up on them right now). Not that I haven't had them but that must have been like twice and both I didn't really have control over. I have the same problem with WILDs and DILDs it seems...nothing is happening. Am I broken or something? Am I less prone to have lucid dreams than any other normal person?
God I'm so down, this was something I really wanted to do.

Of course we are interested, that's why we have an introduction forum.

There are no mixed messages. WILDing is best after at least 4.5 hours of sleep at night. You can also succeed at nap time.

No need to worry about SP. You will enter it wheater you like it or not. You should concentrate on letting you body fall asleep, while keeping your mind aware untill you start dreaming.

It's just a sensation. It could get intense, but can not harm you. You will get used to it.

It's not the quantity, it's the quality. Do them less, but put some feeling behing it. Also, add some mantras and awareness training to RCs. You can find all tutorials in DV Wiki.

No need to give up on either of them. Just get some excitement going (feeling down is not good for LDing). happy dreams
