I'm a noob and got a few questions!

I'm new to the forums, and kinda new to lucid dreaming. I've never had a good lucid dream though, it just seems like I get too excited because it is too real and I just walk around in amazement. It makes me feel like the dream is another reality instead of a dream.

How can I change the environment in my dream? It seems like I can't change anything just like real life.

Also, how do I fly? Is it the same as astral projection?

I guess that's it, I can't think of any other stuff.
I wish I could stay in a lucid dream forever

For the majority of dream control, you just have to be creative. To change a scene, you could try anything from opening a portal to imagining your surroundings melting into something else. Don't be afraid to swipe ideas from books or movies too. A well-known way of teleporting is by dream spinning, but personally I've found that that method just wakes me up. It couldn't hurt to give it a try.

There is a flying tutorial in the tutorials section. How I learned to fly was by recreating the feeling of flying from my nonlucid dreams. Of course, if you don't fly in your regular dreams, this won't work. Once again, be creative. There was a thread awhile back about web swinging as a substitute for flying.

There is something to be said about just admiring the dream's realism though.

All is summed up by these quotes

Have you ever had a dream, Neo, that you were so sure was real? What if you were unable to wake from that dream? How would you know the difference between the dream world and the real world?
Morpheus: How did I beat you?
      Neo: You... you're too fast.
Morpheus: Do you believe that my being stronger or faster has anything to do with my muscles in this place? Do you think that's air you're breathing now?
You have to let it all go, Neo. Fear, doubt, and disbelief. Free your mind.
Neo: What are you trying to tell me? That I can dodge bullets?
Morpheus: No, Neo. I'm trying to tell you that when you're ready, you won't have to.
Willpower is the key to Dream Control. All you need to realize is its your world to create.

Exactly what ExoByte said. If you want to do something, make it happen. I'd also advise that you simply use your imagination. If you want to change the environment, walk around the corner of a building expecting this new place to be there or walk through a door or clap your hands or eat a magical cookie. Even if it sounds odd, if you think it will help you do what you want, try it! Nothing is truly embarrassing in a dream because you're the only one who sees/does it

I don't have LDs very often, but I fly every now and then in my non-LDs, and mostly I just tell myself to keep going up. Look up and keep pulling yourself up. There are lots of other ways to fly, but again, just find what works for you. Get creative
