regular lucid dreams - only just found this site and joined today

      Hi everyone,
I've had lucid dreams since I was a child, the first one I remember was when I was approx five years old and just before I woke, I remember being in a theatre looking out from the upstairs balcony and thinking: this isn't real.
Anyway, I've had them ever since, with varying degrees of lucidity, control and frequency. I've never been much good at controlling my dream environment. Sometimes I've been lucid but I still worry what the other dream characters are thinking of me! I've always been really interested in dreams, as even my non-lucid dreams are very strange and clear and I've always been good at remembering them, but I've never really done much research into the subject. What especially interests me is the common dreams that lots of people seem to have (teeth falling out, etc) and why that is.
Anyway, yesterday my husband mentioned to me this mobile app that can help you lucid dream, I downloaded it and it directed me here, so I spent part of last night reading about it and practising "reality checks". The RCs were a eureka moment for me because I've always wondered how to kick my unconscious mind into consciousness. I usually ask myself: am I dreaming? But was never sure how to answer the question, so I had lots of missed opportunities when I'd convinced myself I was awake when I actually wasn't. Last night I woke a couple of times and did RCs as I was falling back asleep and I had two lucid dreams in one night - they lasted quite a while, and my level of control was much better than usual as I used the techniques I learned from the app.
The first one was when I asked myself: how did I get here? I realised I didn't know, so I tried pushing my finger through my hand, and it worked! Immediately everything became quite blurry and the details faded, but then I made myself start touching stuff and it all came back. I even told this woman: "did you know this is my dream and you're not real?" she just gave me a stern look and said "It's better not to discuss that."
I managed flying, breathing underwater, and travelling through tunnels at very fast speed. I was climbing a staircase and visualised that just behind the door at the top I'd be overlooking a cliff with views of the ocean below - and it worked!
I'm so pleased this worked for me so quickly and easily, and I'm looking forward to honing my skills even more and meeting like-minded people on the website and hearing all about their experiences.
      :-) x

Hey Aughra, that's great news! I'm glad to see that the RCs have been working so well and so quickly for you. As Mancon stated, you are a natural. DV is certainly a great place to talk to other dreamers. If you'd like, you can start your own dream journal on DV and share your dreams with others that way.

I look forward to seeing your posts!

If you have such cool dreams without even trying, I can't wait to see what they turn into once you start practicing. I hope you start a dream journal and keep us updated.
