I thought I was strange because I could Lucid Dream

I didn't know lucid dreaming existed until I saw someone post on facebook about it. Little did I know, I could already do it! I was a freshman when I had my first lucid dreaming experience. I remember I told my mom that I could control what I did in my dreams and she told me that was impossible. I kept lucid dreaming night after night and finally i confided in my friend that I could control what I did in my dreams and recognize that I was dreaming. The next morning I got a text from her saying she controlled the dream she just had that night. Ever since then we have been really into our dreams, texting them to each other the minute we wake up, writing them down, even calling each other in the middle of the night to leave a voice mail explaining what our dream was about. Finally, I saw someone post on facebook something about lucid dreaming, so I looked it up and I was shocked to find out that me and my friend were actually doing stuff that people were willing themselves to do for ages! Now when I look back on it, i've been lucid dreaming for quite sometime, I remember being younger and recognizing I was having a bad dream and eventually I could will myself to wake up. I also willed my self to no longer have a re occurring nightmare that haunted me for ages! I recently had a great dream, and ever since then I have wanted to continue that dream, I looked up how to choose what you dream about and I came across this site. Hopefully it will help me to have awesome dreams! I can finally control other peoples actions in my dreams (but only if the action directly involves me or the main story line of the dream) and I have changed the setting of my dream a few times. I can't make objects appear in my dreams, and I can't choose what I dream about. But I can recognize im dreaming and I can choose my actions and the actions of others. I am going to further research how to choose what you dream about and more cool things I can do! I am so happy that I found a community of people who can understand the dream process, its fun to talk about lucid dreaming and I think that just by talking about it, it makes it easier to do as well.
