      A struggle to dream

Hello my name is David. I had always took an intrest in lucid dreaming for a while now but it wasn't till 3 days ago I came across this awesome website. I never been able to lucid dream, heck I can't even remember mine in the morning. Iv had a dream journal for the passed three nights and it's still blank due to my habit of forgetting everything I dreamt. I need some help with dream recall... Bad haha

Try just laying there when you wake up. Don't move, don't think about the day, only focus on anything that could've happened during the night. It doesn't even have to be complete thoughts, you could just remember something random like "McDonald's" or "a pool". Basically anything that you think you may have dreamt about write down and take note. Just be sure to lay there for 5-10 minutes so you really remember everything you can.

You can also try writing down how you felt that morning if you can't remember any specific details about a dream. This will at least keep you thinking in the morning and hopefully increase you overall dream recall.

      This.

And to add on, if I can't remember after lying still for 5 - 10 minutes, I'll start walking around if I desperately wants to remember it. For example if I dreamt of my favourite plushie, walking around and spotting it will make my whole dream gush back. Something like trying to find key items that appeared in your dream which exists in reality too.

Welcome to Dream Views by the way!

Yes, DJ is essential, as it helps you get your dream recall back on track. Here are some ideas about dream recall. By the way, marihuana can mess up your recall. I mention it just in case Please post your question and feel free to look around the forum and read up on all kinds of interesting topics. Happy dreams

Try not to smoke before you go to bed, or at least don't go to bed high. At least if you're sober your brain will be completely regular throughout your entire sleep cycle and you should be able to remember your dreams more easily.
