Welcome to the forums!
The first thing you're going to want to do is start a dream journal in which your write down any dreams you have. This helps you increase your recall so you don't forget your lucid dreams and also helps you find dream signs, recurring objects/themes which can help you become lucid. You'll also want to learn about various reality checks, actions preformed to check whether or not you are dreaming. These include pinching your nose and trying to breathe (in a dream you can breathe just fine), looking at your hands (many times there will be extra/missing fingers or malformations during dreams), and looking at text or a clock (text often appears jumbled up or in strange symbols and clocks often show wacky times like 18:74)
You should also familiarize yourself with the various techniques to induce a lucid dream. There are many variations but the two main categories are WILD (wake induced lucid dream-going directly from a waking state to a dream) and DILD (dream induced lucid dream-realizing you are dreaming while inside a dream). You have to find which one works best for you since everyone seems to have a favorite, but most people have their first lucid with a form of DILD. If you do all this you should start having lucids soon, but it will take some time. On average it's a few weeks to a few months to have your first LD but they're absolutely incredible and completely worth the hard work. After your first the next ones should come more easily as you go on.
Good luck and if you have any specific questions feel free to either post here, make a thread or pm one of the members, especially one on the dream guide team created to help people get lucid/answer problems. Their names appear in green and they will have 3 starts below their name.
