Me and my strange dreams, an introduction!

On another forum I visit someone made a long post about lucid dreaming. And attaining lucidity, which got me very interested; so I googled more information and ended up here . Something interesting about me is I've remembered roughly 730 dreams in a row now upon waking up. For some reason 2 years ago I started remembering dreams every time I woke up, and it hasn't stopped yet. I have no idea why it started happening since I never implemented any techniques to try and remember my dreams, but hopefully it can give me a head start on attaining lucidity.

Another interesting thing is I have extremely weird dreams nearly every night. Almost all my dreams are completely illogical, and borderline disturbing. I just started a dream journal yesterday and maybe once it has a good amount I'll make it public, or try and get someone to analyze it. Although I'm new so I don't know if there are rules in place where you can't post overly gruesome or disturbing dreams.

Even though I've remembered so many dreams upon waking up, I can't remember one that was a really fun or good dream. I would say 70% are just a complete mess, and 30% are nightmares. I'm very used to it by now though, so when I have a weird dream or a nightmare they don't phase me. That's a big reason why I want to learn lucid dreaming though, so I can turn all these strange dreams into fun dreams and experience something new.

      Hello Lucidi, welcome to DV.

It's great that you're having a very good level of dream recall. The more dreams you can recall, the greater your odds are of having a lucid dream.

It's actually normal to have weird dreams I'd say. Or I guess it's better to say that it's normal because everyone dreams differently. It actually makes sense for your dreams to be illogical because the logic center of your brain becomes inactive when you're dreaming.

Don't worry about the content of your writings in your dream journal. We don't have any rules against dream journal content, except for links, pictures, or out of context comments that would be considered offensive. I'd like to see your journal go public so you can start getting help analyzing your dreams. I could probably help you search for dream signs.

I'm similar to you in the types of dreams I have. They're usually nightmarish or negative in some way. Well they used to be anyway. After mastering lucid dreaming I can now turn those bad dreams into a night of fun and excitement.
