      Need some help with LD

hello, i have been trying to lucid dream for a couple months now, but with no luck. I try to tell myself i will have a lucid dream before bed, and i have tried the WILD method, but fall asleep right after waking. On mulltiple occasions i have had dreams where i thought i was awake and was trying to go to sleep to have a lucid dream.(I have no control though) This frustrates me because it feels like my dreams are toying with me. Do you guys have any tips to help me out. I am 16 if that helps.

when you try to WILD do you use an alarm to wake up or just wake yourself up? i suggest using an alarm and put a note on or near it telling yourself its time to WILD. try to focus on something for a bit (but not too much) if you feel tired so that you arent waking yourself up but you wont instantly fall asleep either. also with your mantras maybe say it more times throughout the day until its stuck in your head.

      hope this helps. good luck!

Keep at it. Make sure you keep up with the basics. Reality check during the day, and keep a dream journal every night. WILD takes some practice, but is totally worth it when you finally get it to work.

      Welcome to DreamViews!

The others gave you the right suggestions. Writing your dreams down daily and reviewing method material can help train your brain that your dreams are important memories to retain. As this relationship strengthens it's more likely some of your dreams will become lucid dreams.

Reality checks and awareness techniques during the day can help you recognize signs of dreaming within the dream.

As you continue practicing it'll be easier to recognize those false awakenings and use them to your advantage.

If you have any more questions feel free to post them in the appropriate section of the forum or send any staff member (like me) a private message by clicking on our profile name.

      Pleasant dreams!
