      Hi Everyone

Hi -- Just stumbled onto this site while looking for more info about lucid dreaming. I guess I can - I've had extremely vivid dreams since I was 5, I can still remember my first dreams. When I was six, I dreamed that I was a teenage boy (I'm a girl). Now I'm 22 and I've dreamed I was other people a few times. I still sometimes have disturbing dreams, will stop in my dream and think, this isn't real - and wake up. I think I'm able to do this because of nightmares. I have also had dreams, where I realize I'm moving in real life as well - has included crying/kicking/etc. I have also woken up in a dream, gone through my normal routine, and then realize I was still dreaming. Anyways, glad I found this site and hope I can learn more!

Welcome to Dream Views! Sounds like you have a good head start. The fact that you have realized you were dreaming is great, now you can learn to cause more dreams like that and start actually controlling them.

      Welcome to dream views!

      And you mentioned,

I have also woken up in a dream, gone through my normal routine, and then realize I was still dreaming.
seems what you have experienced before was a False Awakening, where you believe you woke up in waking life, but it was merely a trick from your mind. Practicing reality checks can help a lot, and for a list of basics ones, check >>>>>here<<<<.

There are also basic tutorials on several induction methods here as well:

      1. DV Tutorials

      2. User Tutorials

These are the raw fundamentals, but you'll mind more specific guides on methods you want to try. It may take a while, but I'm sure that as long as you remain passionate, the knowledge will come just like that!

Enjoy your stay, glad to have you here.

This may not sounds like much fun, but if you get a chance, you could write down your dreams from childhood. It will be a blast to read them when you much older. Happy dreams.
