Being new I'd like to say a couple of things and ask a couple of questions.

I have recently gotten into the habit of sleeping for 8 hours waking up, and having multiple subsequent "naps" afterwards. Like I would wake up after 8 hours for less than one minute and go back to sleep. after I wake up, I'm not tired, but I sort of force myself back to sleep. Anyways... a lot of times in my dreams, I realize that things are out of place such as distorted text and such, but I don't think anything of it in my dreams. before I knew of the concept of lucid dreams, I had a couple of them every now and then.

My questions are:
1) Sometimes when i'm half asleep, i try to wake up (like i'm teetering on the edge of consciousness and unconsciousness, but I can't wake myself up... but if I try hard enough, I jolt awake. Is that sleep paralysis?

2) Sometimes right before I fall asleep, my whole body jolts for apparently no reason at all. It doesn't happen too frequently but it has happened more than once. I am laying down with my eyes closed, but not asleep when this happens. Does anyone know what that is, or the cause of it?

3) I also think that since i've recently been sleeping an average of 12-15 hours a day, it's nearly impossible to recall anything that I've dreamed about. Any way to change that?

Last question
4) In relation to the sleeping for 8 hours and then taking 2-3 hour long naps immediately after (by forcing myself asleep even though I'm not tired). Does my ability to fall back asleep right after waking up even though I'm not tired have any benefits?

BTW I apologize for any erratic mistakes to spelling or grammar. It's 3 am and I suffer from insomnia due to Bi-Polar. Note also that my sleeping schedule is usually 5am to 3pm while the normal is something like 8pm to 5am. I'm almost nocturnal :p

Any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated. I think I might have found a new and fun forum to be in and everyone here sounds like they make the community enjoyable. I have yet to see any bullying or such. :p
