      Restarting Dream? 1st Real LD

Hello everyone! This is my first time here and am looking forward to learning as much I can. I have always had very vivid, strange dreams and have had a few minor LD's in the past but last night I experienced something to the next level. Some of the specifics are a little embarrassing so I will stay to the main events.

I remember almost the whole thing and it was quite long. It felt like a murder mystery but there was a whole lot unrelated going on. The more I attempted to do my own thing, the more it seemed as if my unconscious mind was pushing back. There were borders I knew that if i had crossed, I would have woken up. So i stayed within the borders and eventually, as i ran from characters and the direction they wanted me to go, the borders got smaller and my mind faded and i ended up in something you guys seem to be calling "the void". From there i was paralyzed as all i saw was a black area pass in front of my eyes (like a movie when the camera passes between floors).

Afterwards, I was back in the same dream with the same characters trying to get me to do the same things. After the same outcome, some of the characters seemed disappointed in my choice. The gave me crap about it. And when i asked one of them why they were upset, it dawned on me and i asked "Who told you to chase me? To get me to do these things? Are you.... me?" He grew a large smile and said "Of course i am! HAHAHA" not in a scary way but in a eureka moment.

After that the dream ended and I went right into another great LD, now with more abilities. But this one felt different. The fact that I wasn't in the first dream anymore weighed heavily on me. I felt as if I had lost my chance. I was given 2 chances and failed both times. This played out and after i awoke i could remember both clearly but the one that mattered was the first one. So i quickly wrote it down, even though the whole night was super clear to me for hours into the day today (which is a first).

Now that this has happened for some reason it has changed me (for the better I think). I will be exploring this much more and trying to learn as much as I can. I am really very excited and a little afraid to begin this new journey of LDs. Any type of input or feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

Now that thats off my chest, time to do some reading and learning! Thanks again everyone!

Oh sorry to clarify, this person wasn't actaully me, but at that point I knew he was taking orders from my sub-conscious. (or was the manifest of). But I guess that still may be the case Thanks!

There's really no reason to be afraid, as all dreaming takes place in your mind, which is Your safe haven.. You control your thoughts, so you can ultimately control how you feel.
Congrats on the Lucidity, and Happy Dreaming!

I have these same types of dreams! Where if the dream doesn't end in a positive way, it's like my subconscious will give myself, and the other characters/people, another chance to get it right. It normally happens if someone dies. When someone dies, my dream will restart and, because I know what's coming, I know how to prevent the death of whoever died the first time. But if I don't prevent it the second time, I will get another chance. It's almost like a video game.. So interesting and entertaining. But because my mind is so active during the night, I wake up feeling like I haven't slept at all.

      Nice! Congrats on the lucid

      and to DV!

Just wondering, do you do any specific induction techniques? And just like the others said, no need to be afraid at all! Lucid dreaming (and dreaming in general) is such an amazing experience a lot of people overlook. We are very lucky to be able to do these kinds of things, and to unearth fascinating things our mind has in store for us.

See ya later, have fun :3

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.
