      Hi, How are you?

Hello, I'm just starting out with LD. I've been lurking the forums and reading every tutorial I can for the past two weeks. Last night I had my first LD. It was very short lived though lol. Just thought I'd come here introduce myself and say that. What should my expectations be for lucid dreams, should I expect one every two weeks. There is a place that I've fantasized about for so long and I just want to get there.

Hello drawven, and welcome to the dreamviews community.

Let me be the first to say congrats on you first LD. I still remember mine as though it were last night. The feeling of utter excitement and awe at knowing you are in another realm is quite amazing. Studying the advice of others who have come before you is a good way to get a jump on the concept at hand. Lucid Dreaming is unlike any drug or movie or video game in existence, for you are in complete control and are only limited by your own mind. Expand your mind and your consciousness, and there will be nothing keeping you from exploring your deepest fantasies.

As far as expectations go, a good rule of thumb is to go to bed EVERY night expecting to have a Lucid Dream. Your mind has to be conditioned that way if you are to achieve consistent results. Do not ever be discouraged. I Just came off a four month dry spell, and have had three Lucids in the past week alone.

I will help you as much as you want and there are many more great people on this site who are just as willing, and possibly more capable than I, to help you.
      I Dreamed a Dream
In it, saw people I've never seen
      Gone places I've never been
And done things I'd do again.

      Welcome to Dreamviews!

Glad you have started by reading the tutorials and congrats on your first lucid.

You should not only expect to have lucid dream, but you should have intent (stronger than expectation). Depending on which method you chose for inductions, you could get some more advanced info and personalized guidance in one of the DV Academy classes. Please don't hesitate to post your questions. Happy dreams

Expect to have one every time you go to sleep. Don't be disappointed if you only get one every week or two.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. It was an unreal feeling though lol. I'm going to get it back.
