      Greetings

      Hello everyone
I am new to this site. I have been into lucid dreaming for years but just yesterday decided to go and see if there was a forum for LD and what do you know... there is a forum for everything! Anyway glad to see everyone here. I haven't been practicing or attempting to have an LD recently. I usually have crazy dreams and when it gets to crazy I'll begin to LD and somewhat change the outcome but usually as soon as I know what I am doing I wake up. I have yet to have a LD that lasts long enough where I have the freedom of doing whatever I want. I have been able to go in and out of dreams but not stay in them. Since I was a child this has happened and I never knew what is was. I would try to explain to people but , what did I know I was just a kid and they were "just dreams". I would try to explain that I was still asleep and knew I was sleeping but I was aware of it and no one took me seriously. I've been into third dimensions, out of body experiences etc since I was younger. I feel they all relate. I have had a weird fetish for door knobs since I was a kid too. usually old glass ones which has turned into a family joke but they were my treasures. My precious even. I guess the one I had as a kid was my doorway to escape reality if that makes sense. I've been a dreamer and a fantasy addict since I could remember and its due to a bad childhood but in a way its got me more into lucid dreaming if that makes any sense to anyone. I hope to be able to fully control them in the future.
Anyway there was a reason I came here but I will get to that on another post . Just wanted to come and say hello to everyone!!!
      Meg

Welcome to the site! Have you been able to induce a lucid dream or did they just happen at random? It sounds to me like your natural ability is strong, but you need to learn how to prolong the dreams. What happens once you realise you're dreaming is that you get excited, this is ok in a dream but most feelings you feel need to be held back a bit. If you allow yourself to become super excited you'll wake up. Relax and interact with the enviroment and don't think about your body lying in bed, that you're infact dreaming. You should only remind yourself every now and then that you are infact dreaming.

Everyone's got their own reason for wanting to learn how to lucid dream, my reason is that it's the best form of entertainment out there

If you're wondering about something, don't hesitate to ask!

      Thanks for the welcome!
Honestly I have not been able to induce it on my own. I have only tried to a few times. The problem there is I have a lot of trouble falling asleep to begin with. Sometimes I lay there for an hour or more before I will actually fall asleep so by the time that happens my mind has wondered away from thoughts of Lucid dreaming. I really need to look more into it and practice more.

I will go ask my questions now on the main discussion threads
      TY!
