Hey there everyone.
I have just joined, so making my introduction.
I have been interested in dreams only seriously for maybe the past few years, before that I just thought they were cool, even though I hated the intense anxiety dreams I would sometimes get. I have been able to lucid dream, naturally, since I was a kid, or maybe a teen. I never tried any techniques until recently, it always just happened on occasion, and still does.
Over the past while I've become increasingly interested in dreams for several reasons. I have questions concerning recurring dreams that I've been having, and I've been understanding dreams as a window to the unconscious mind more than just random nighttime happenings.
I've read some of Jung's theory on dream analysis and just started a thick volume of his essays on archetypes and the collective unconscious. I've started seeing my dreams as a way to develop my spirituality and psychology and to get more in touch with my true self. I suffer from depression and various forms of anxiety so I hope that by understanding myself I can start to heal and love myself more.
I've also recently started my own dream group, we've only had one meeting so far which not many people showed up to, but I'm hoping it will get more interest over the next few.
So hello!
I'd really like it if some people here would be willing to try helping me to understand some of my recurring dreams, I should probably talk to a psychologist but I cannot really afford to do that at the moment, I am on a waiting list for for free counselling, but I thought posting here may offer some more specific insight.
Also I keep getting into deeper levels of lucidity without using any methods so I think I have potential to really get good at it so I look forward to reading posts on that on this forum.
Another thing I'm interested in is using certain herbs to enhance lucid dreams, and the theory of the endogenous molecule DMT possibly being a likely candidate for the occurance of dreams. I'm writing a graphic novel which is largely focused around lucid dreaming, psychedelic/spiritual experience and have just finished reading Rick Strassman's DMT: The Spirit Molecule but it did not really go into dreaming so if anyone has any valuable information on this topic that would be more than appreciated.
Now to browse the forum and get posting! I'll check back here in case anyone has anything they think they could offer to help with my interests, See you all around
