      Hello!

      Hi there!

I've known of lucid dreaming for quite a while, but it's only in the last month that I've learnt more about it thanks to this site. I've been browsing on this site for the last couple of weeks but decided to finally just register - so here I am! ^^

The information and threads here have really helped me when it comes to lucid dreaming and what I can do to try and become lucid while dreaming. If not for this site, I don't think I ever would have had the two WILDs that I've had these last two weeks! Especially seeing as, for a long while, I had terrible sleeping problems and night terrors! My night terrors normally happened when I'd wake up, half-awake and half-asleep, hallucinating and hearing things.

Anyway, I look forward to chatting with the members here and taking part in the discussions about lucid dreaming. Nice to meet you all!

      Hey Phoenix422!

Welcome to DreamViews. Great to know you finally decided to register! Also, congratulation on your two WILDs! I'm looking forward to seeing more of you around the site. If you ever need anything or have any questions or if you wanna share your dreams and ideas, feel free to do so.

      Good luck! See ya.

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Hello! Nice to meet you! ^^

Well, I say they were WILD, but maybe I'm wrong...

The first one was a nap I had after coming back from an early appointment at the doctors. I was just lying on my back for a while, rolled over onto my right side and then, BAM, I'm in a dream and seem to realise it, doing a reality check just to be on the safe side. I reckon I was half-lucid though and I certainly lost my lucidity near the end.

Second attempt at WILD was just so surreal. I was woken up by my friend texting me and, spent the next half way alternating from texting her back and lying my head down on the pillow and resting. When she stopped and I went back to sleep, I tried to WILD using my own anchor to keep my conscious. I remember this dream forming and feeling as if I was flying from up above and looking down. Suddenly the dream disappears and I feel as if I'm floating downwards, the weirdest thing been the fact that I can feel both my body lying in my bed and my dream body. I then wake up and sit up in bed and do a reality check, thinking I'm wake, then see that I only have three fingers on my hand. The lucid experience lasted about twenty minutes, I reckon, but was SO realistic!

There is one question I do have! I always hear a lot of SP and how some hallucinate scary stuff etc. I've never really experienced SP, but could the night terrors I used to have have anything to do with it? They were very vivid hallucinations and I normally got them after falling asleep.

Hi again. Well those look like a WILD to me. As long as you were aware the entire time from the moment you lay in bed until you entered the dream (and no loss of awareness in between), then that would be a WILD. in your second experience, it seems like you even had some sort of OBE :O if you'd like to know more about those, you can look around The Beyond Dreamingforum :3

As for the sleep paralysis. Do not worry about it. There is so much misinformation about it – something we are trying to correct. Those feelings people say they experience during a WILD attempt are most probably not sleep paralysis even. Those tingling, heaviness, etc. are mostly just normal bodily sensations you notice while your body is falling asleep. Though, I am not dismissing that it could be indeed sleep paralysis. Please check this out if you have some time: http://www.dreamviews.com/f79/sensat...y-wild-137332/

It may seem quite lengthy but it will really be worth it to know these things in the long run

Keep in mind that sleep paralysis is not necessary for you to achieve a WILD. Even in your experience, you didn't seem to have it. Also, any hallucinations – be it visual, auditory, tactile, etc. – are normal and nothing to worry about. You can even use them to remind you that you are on the right track. If they occur, then let them be. If they don't, it's alright. You can still achieve a WILD.

As for your night terrors, I'm not sure how they could affect your hypnagogic hallucinations. At the most, they could feed the hallucination with subconscious thoughts of the nightmares you used to have.

I hope this clears things up. Good luck

      Welcome!

Glad you decided to finally register! You had 2 WILDs within your first 2 weeks of trying? That's awesome! It takes most people longer to get 1 WILD when first starting. Anyway, if you have questions just ask!

Thanks! ^^ Well, in regards to my WILD attempts, I reckon I just got lucky, since I haven't had any WILDs after said 2. I normally just end up waking myself up too much when I attempt now. :/

Welcome to Dream Views! This is the place to be for anyone wanting to learn how to lucid dream. The Dream guide team is here to help you navigate the forum and answer questions. We all have 3 green stars above our avatar. Click on our user name and you can then select private message if you have a question, or you can start new threads. Don't worry about starting threads that have been started before, just try it out, if it ends up in the wrong place one of us can move it for you.

The very first thing you should do is check out basic tutorials. This one covers most of the terms you will see members using, so start here, http://www.dreamviews.com/f20/beginn...eaming-124786/

Also be sure to check out the DVA Dream Views Acadamy, click on this link to get there, DV Academy.

Matte , our Dream Guide team leader runs a general lucid dreaming class, and you can join in contests where you gain points for dreams you have. General Lucid Dreaming (Matte87)

Gab , another Dream Guide runs a class that is very valuable to beginners on MILD/DILD, which is by far the best method to start with. DILD (Hukif and gab)

Finally as far as the DVA stuff goes, there is a class on introduction to lucid dreaming. This is a great place if you are just starting out and need a little personal help. Intro Class (OpheliaBlue, RareCola, CanisLucidus, Chimpertainment, Xanous)

Now, on the lighter side, you may be excited to learn to fly! Here is a thread where people explain how they went about learning to fly, http://www.dreamviews.com/f14/can-u-...u-learn-40468/

Then just for a laugh here is a thread where people list all the things they want to do in an LD. It is mostly light hearted and supposed to be funny, http://www.dreamviews.com/f11/1000-t...-dream-104556/

Have fun and good luck with your dreaming!
Peace Be With You. Oh, and sure, The Force too, why not.
