      Hi!

      Hi there.

I'm cheech, 'coz when I was younger I had a huge moustache like crazy Cheech Marin of Cheech 'n Chong, and the handle sorta stuck through the years. I actually met them on the street in Kings Cross in Sydney Australia in the early 70's when they were on tour. I'm not quite as crazy as he was (he now looks like a middle-class Mexican banker), and my mo' is a bit more respectable, but inside I'm still the same.

Dreams? Amazing things, aren't they? My most amazing recollection is about 3/4 years ago when I went through a period of very very vivid serial dreams, where part of my consciousness knew I was dreaming, then I'd wake and rise to have a pee, then go back and continue the same dream. It totally blew me out, but after a couple of times I stopped sharing the occurrence with others - they'd either think I was crazy, or they'd just give me a blank stare as if I was describing cheese.
Now, I hardly ever have recall of dreams. I have put it down to the fact that I've smoked hooch for most of this time, and periods of abstinence seem to be the most active, dreamwise. Any comments? Lately, as I get older and finally begin to mature, they've started to return, but pretty ephemerally. Sorta snatches and pieces, like a mixed montage.

Many years ago (10/12) I found some software called "Liquid Dreams", but it seemed to have a bug and wouldn't quite work on my computer, so I gave it up. After a particularly vivid and long dream two nights ago (patchy in my memory) I was motivated to search it out, and found "Lightened Dream" from Liquid-Code. It turns out that the former was a precursor to the latter, and the Owner pointed me to this site. Thanks Michael.

My friends think that I'm somewhat weird, as I love to think totally outside the box of consensus reality, so life can get pretty lonely when travelling through the subconscious zones of the Universe. So, my aims are to correlate my dreams and their symbols in an attempt to further understand the deep dark depths of my psyche, and through sharing them on this forum increase my knowledge of life, the universe, and everything. 4 + 2 = 42

If you've read this far, thanks for your time and patience.

      Cheers, cheech

Welcome cheech. Really awesome avatar by the way

I am also a fan of subjects that is out of the ordinary and I can't talk about lucid dreaming with all of my friends either, but feel free to discuss everything that is outside the box with me!

      And I love cheese ^-^

I am currently trying to astral project and that way if it is true that it is in a different dimension (frequency), well then communicating with other being including aliens would be possible.

I am by the way one of the Dream Guides of the forum and my job is to help anyone who needs or ask for it So ask away!

      Sweet dreams!

Hi MasterMind, and thanks for being my first respondent.

You may be interested to know that I'm a proud owner of the two leading/classic books that introduced the subject of AP to the general public in a straightforward and scientific manner. Most of the early literature was rather uninformed, sensational, and speculative.

      1. "The Projection of the Astral Body" (1929)
      2. "The Phenomena of Astral Projection" (1951)
both by Sylvan Muldoon and Hereward Carrington

Mr. Carrington documents his intellectual and research relationship with Mr. Muldoon, who unconsciously stumbled upon AP without initially understanding the process, then proceeds to attempt to analyze the phenomenon within the limits of contemporary knowledge and understanding. You'll appreciate that didn't give them much room to move back then, and we are indebted to them for the work they accomplished, and the doors of knowledge that they opened to the light of understanding.

Now that you've spiked my interest, I just may re-read them, as my own understanding of consciousness (and now Quantum Physics, which I feel will have much to say on metaphysical matters) has increased immensely since I last visited them quite some years ago. As with dreams, revisiting them later can shed a new light when seen in a new context, and that is what I feel this site can accomplish, along with the "Lightened Dream" software. Unfortunately we are half a planet apart, otherwise you would be welcome to use the books for your own research. The information they contain is very concise and precisely detailed, and of immense value to any sincerely inquiring mind.

I have my own perspectives on the subject as well, and look forward to sharing them with yourself and anyone else who may be interested

Cheers and many happy smiles, cheech.

I will definitely look into it some day It's funny, I just watched a documentary about the Quantum Physics yesterday

And we have to talk later on! Where can I reach you? Except for the astral, because I am not skilled enough for that. yet...

      See you soon

Yes, it is funny, isn't it? It's called a "synchronicity", and they happen to me all time, every day in fact.

Most often when I'm typing (I do a lot of writing) the same word or phrase appears concurrently in the background, on the radio or in a song. Car Number plates, visual cues, almost anything can spark them off. I interpret them as an itch, a tickle of the subconscious, which could be a signpost, a warning, or, less often, just happenstance. In your case it maybe that you are becoming ready to delve deeper into the subject and the synchronicity is a signpost offering you an alternative - watch out, as there will probably more, of increasing frequency, just around the corner. You may choose to ignore them if you wish, but it's rather fun to jump on a passing train without knowing the destination - I've been doing it all my life. You may end up at some surprising and fascinating destinations!

Anyway, I believe that Quantum Knowledge will turn our whole pseudo-spiritual understanding on its head; maybe it relates to the much touted ending of the Mayan Calendar in a few weeks, where people claim that those who are ready will experience a huge paradigm shift. Personally, I feel that it will be an individual event, if at all, and most won't really be aware of any change in their psyche. Life may just go on, obladi-oblada, ho-hum.

Synchronicity is a subject that first interested me as a teen in the 60's when I discovered the more esoteric aspects of the philosophy of Carl Jung, a student of Sigmund Freud. He was very much concerned with the subconscious and how it impacted on our actions and lives (and was a committed student of the Yi Ching), which leads us on to the subject of dreams, which is why we're on this site in the first place - another synchronicity for me.

Now, I would love to correspond further with you, but I don't want to give my email addy out to the world. I also think we're getting off-topic for the Newby Forum, so where do we go from here? It's getting late in this quarter, so maybe we can catch up tomorrow? (I could get a temporary email addy for initial communication, and then delete it later)

Cheers, and happy smiles to you.

Back again. It must be late, 'coz I forgot to mention that what got me into Jung was his classic book "The Interpretation of Dreams". How relevant could that be to what you're doing on this site? I must be getting brain-dead tonite! It was too heavy to fully comprehend in my late teens back then as I was doing it totally on my own and in the dark, but that's not to say that at this time you won't. It's very heavy into archetypes and symbolism, if I remember, and as with the other two books was the leader in its day, and still remains a classic in Psychology and Psychiatry. Maybe it's time to dust it off as well?

      Now how's THAT for a synchronicity . . . ?

      Cheers again, cheech.

Welcome to DreamViews and thanks for the mention!

You might like the My Big TOE trilogy by Thomas Campbell. Robert A. Monroe hired him straight out of college to scientifically investigate the phenomenon, which inspired him to expand his view of reality. In short, the only model that can explain everything he has experienced requires the world to be a virtual simulation - based on 1's and 0's or disturbances and no disturbance, which I resonate with as a coder. The most valuable thing that I took from it is that our greatest purpose is to increase order or "to improve the quality of consciousness".

Welcome to Dream Views! This is the place to be for anyone wanting to learn how to lucid dream. The Dream guide team is here to help you navigate the forum and answer questions. We all have 3 green stars above our avatar. Click on our user name and you can then select private message if you have a question, or you can start new threads. Don't worry about starting threads that have been started before, just try it out, if it ends up in the wrong place one of us can move it for you.

The very first thing you should do is check out basic tutorials. This one covers most of the terms you will see members using, so start here, http://www.dreamviews.com/f20/beginn...eaming-124786/

Also be sure to check out the DVA Dream Views Acadamy, click on this link to get there, DV Academy.

Matte , our Dream Guide team leader runs a general lucid dreaming class, and you can join in contests where you gain points for dreams you have. General Lucid Dreaming (Matte87)

Gab , another Dream Guide runs a class that is very valuable to beginners on MILD/DILD, which is by far the best method to start with. DILD (Hukif and gab)

Finally as far as the DVA stuff goes, there is a class on introduction to lucid dreaming. This is a great place if you are just starting out and need a little personal help. Intro Class (OpheliaBlue, RareCola, CanisLucidus, Chimpertainment, Xanous)

Now, on the lighter side, you may be excited to learn to fly! Here is a thread where people explain how they went about learning to fly, http://www.dreamviews.com/f14/can-u-...u-learn-40468/

Then just for a laugh here is a thread where people list all the things they want to do in an LD. It is mostly light hearted and supposed to be funny, http://www.dreamviews.com/f11/1000-t...-dream-104556/

Have fun and good luck with your dreaming!
Peace Be With You. Oh, and sure, The Force too, why not.
