      Smile Hello everybody ;)

      Hey everybody,

After like 3 months of lurking on DreamViews, i decided that it was time to make an account & be part of this great community.

So here is a little introduction of myself:

My name is Stefan, 22 years old and i live in the Netherlands.
as a daytime job i work as a PLC programmer(writing software for industrial machines).
For this job i need to travel quite a bit, often to somewhere in Europe and sometimes further away.
I do like the traveling though, to see something of the world and to meet different people.

I discovered lucid dreaming when i was 13 or 14, on a night when i was having a bad nightmare. At the scariest part of the nightmare , i was like f*ck this i am not gonna run from my fears anymore.
Then when i faced my fears i suddenly became aware that i was dreaming. i destroyed my nightmare and changed it in to a semi lucid dream.

after that i became semi lucid a few times more, but over the years to come i slowly lost my interest in dreams because of school and stuff like that.

But when i was 20 i became fascinated again with the concept of lucid dreaming, and began browsing the internet for information and reading experiences from other people.
in the last 2 years i had around 15 lucid dreams, but not all that long lasting, they were like 10 minutes long.

I hope to improve my lucids in length and clarity and control, and to finally keep a consistent dream journal.

well that was a short introduction of myself
I hope my English wasn't to bad.

      Happy dreaming everyone!

WELCOME! No, your English wasn't "too" bad. JK! Don't worry about it, a lot of people on here are using their second language, and as a whole, you seem to know a lot of English. I often mess up on my English as well (and it is my only language) and with the edit button currently down, I keep messing up.

Nice to see a newcomer even if they already know a bit about Lucid Dreaming. There are quite a few tutorials on here, and I would recommend reading them.

I would recommend above all though to read some Stephen Laberge. He really puts your mind at ease about LDing and he lets you know the very scientific viewpoint of it. Exploring the World of Lucid Dreams gave me like 5 LDs as I was reading it (it only took me 2 days, I need to reread that )

      Good luck on more LDs!

Welcome to Dream Views! This is the place to be for anyone wanting to learn how to lucid dream. There is no quick answer to your question, but the Dream guide team is here to help you navigate the forum and answer questions. We all have 3 green stars above our avatar. Click on our user name and you can then select private message if you have a question, or you can start new threads. Don't worry about starting threads that have been started before, just try it out, if it ends up in the wrong place one of us can move it for you.

One thing you can do in a post is place a link to another thread. I have done this below. You can click on the colored words to see the new thread. Start with this extra basic one, it will help you read the acronyms in other posts, Help With Acronyms For Complete Beginners

After that one the very first thing you should do is check out basic tutorials. This one covers most of the terms you will see members using in much more depth, so start here, http://www.dreamviews.com/f20/beginn...eaming-124786/

Also be sure to check out the DVA Dream Views Acadamy, click on this link to get there, DV Academy.

Matte , our Dream Guide team leader runs a general lucid dreaming class, and you can join in contests where you gain points for dreams you have. General Lucid Dreaming (Matte87)

Gab , another Dream Guide runs a class that is very valuable to beginners on MILD/DILD, which is by far the best method to start with. DILD (Hukif and gab)

Finally as far as the DVA stuff goes, there is a class on introduction to lucid dreaming. This is a great place if you are just starting out and need a little personal help. Intro Class (OpheliaBlue, RareCola, CanisLucidus, Chimpertainment, Xanous)

Now, on the lighter side, you may be excited to learn to fly! Here is a thread where people explain how they went about learning to fly, http://www.dreamviews.com/f14/can-u-...u-learn-40468/

Then just for a laugh here is a thread where people list all the things they want to do in an LD. It is mostly light hearted and supposed to be funny, http://www.dreamviews.com/f11/1000-t...-dream-104556/

Have fun and good luck with your dreaming!
Peace Be With You. Oh, and sure, The Force too, why not.
