      Hey guys! Newbie with question

Hey guys im stephen and im 17. I just found this site after searching for help with lucid dreaming. I had one when I was about 10 or 11. I was with my friends on the school playground when I noticed the swing set was moving strangely. Then I said hey....I'm dreaming! Then I did a backflip and woke up.

Anyway I want to get into lucid dreaming and start doing it regularly. And my main motivation is to be able to compose songs(I've been playing guitar for 12 years) and I read that you are way more creative in your dream state than in your waking state. So my question to all of you experienced lucid dreamers is is it possible to do that? Has anyone ever done/tried this? And I want to fly and all that cool stuff too but I just want to know everyone's thoughts on composing songs.

P.s. I look forward to hearing everyones experiences and getting to know you guys. Thanks in advance for your help!

I have no musical talent whatsoever, so for the composition specifically I can't help you. However, I do know of a story that might. One of the examples of the benefits of lucid dreaming used in the book Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming talked about a woman who would use lucid dreams to practice a musical piece that she needed to perform soon. She used the dreams to teach herself to be calm and focus, and when she performed for real it was perfect. The point being is that I'm sure it is possible to compose a piece in a dream. I'm not sure how easy or difficult it would be, but it's definitely possible; anything is in a dream. You might even be able to go into a lucid dream and start plucking strings on your guitar and listen to what comes out. Then when you woke up you could write that down or record yourself humming it and see how it sounds. That's my best guess.
