      Smile Hello

Hello, I thought I'd join this community site since I'm getting more into lucid dreaming. I'm hoping this will help me achieve lucidity more. All my experiences in lucid dreaming happened by accident so maybe trying techniques will surprise me

      Welcome to Dreamviews!

Good place to start is our DV Academy, where you can join any class or just read the material. DILD technique is usually recommended to start with. If you have any specific question, just post in the forums and we'll be happy to help. happy dreams

Welcome to DV, Narwhal! As a mother of two kids, I have loved the narwhal whenever it came up in animal alphabets, a fun creature. I envy you your ability to LD by accident, for me it takes quite a lot of effort. I bet that once you get into this community your incidence of LDs will go up, enjoy the forum and your lucid dreams!

Thank you JoannaB, That's when I became fond of the Narwhal, around second grade. That's comforting to hear

Welcome, Narwhal! It's good to have you with us.

I think you've made a great move -- your experience sounds a lot like how mine was. I had my first lucid dream completely by accident and through exploring on my own I finally managed a 2nd after a couple months of trying. But eventually I just thought that having people to share thoughts and experiences with would help me move forward.

I was far more right than I'd have ever guessed. Community has made such a difference. The idea-sharing and personalized discussion of classes was a huge boost for me, as were the discussions in Dream Journals. Gab's recommendation of the DV Academy is right on. I am an alumnus of OpheliaBlue's excellent Intro Class (which you can find at this link), but it's worth looking at all of the great courses. Since you've experienced DILDs so far, the DILD class (found at this link) is also an option. It is even taught by the great gab herself!

Anyhow, welcome to the site. If you have any questions, feel free to post right in this thread or to PM me or any of the other Dream Guides and we'll gladly help you out.

Oh, and great name, by the way. The narwhal always makes me think of "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea".

Thank you CanisLucidus wow you have a high LD count! thank you also for the recommendations, I'm glad to have new tools to look into in order to achieve more lucidity. Yeah from what you and gab has said I think I will go for the DILD class first.
Thank you, I think narwhals are amazing creatures :]

Oh I have a question CanisLucidus, I've been reading on here what DILD and WILD are and
how to do them, but I saw DEILD mentioned on here somewhere,
What does it stand for? I might have typed it wrong though.

Great question. DEILD stands for "Dream Exit Induced Lucid Dream". Basically, after waking or partially waking from one dream, you attempt to quickly fall right back asleep into a new dream with your awareness still intact.

It's really just a special type of WILD -- a WILD under the most ideal of circumstances. I like to think of it as a "WILD on easy mode".

There are a couple of great DEILD tutorials on the site:
      http://www.dreamviews.com/induction-...me-ld-god.html
      http://www.dreamviews.com/induction-...cid-dream.html

DEILD is an awesome tech to complement a mainline practice like MILD. There are occasions where a lucid dream will destabilize, sometimes very soon after beginning. In those cases, DEILD really shines. You just relax, hold on, and pull yourself straight back into lucid dreaming. It took me a while to master but it has really been worth it... it's saved me many times! No need to rush things, of course -- just keep it in mind and approach it whenever you feel ready and interested.

Hope that helps! Let me know if you need me to expand or clarify anything.

Thank you so much CanisLucidus! This is just what I needed, I'm going to check these links out.
From what you've written it sounds like a good technique.
