      Third time lucky

      Hello Dream Views!

I've been interested in lucid dreaming for a few years now. So far I've made two half hearted attempts that, unsurprisingly, yielded no significant results.

I'm keen to have another crack at it and hopefully get more meaningful results.

      Welcome to the forum!

I hope you have better luck this time. You're in good company, and aren't the first person to half-try and fail.

Little tip...know you can control your dreams. Don't doubt. They say fear is the mind-killer...and they're right.

Lucid dreaming isn't a faith or cult, but some people will occasionally treat it as such, even describe it as such. They couldn't be more wrong. Lucid dreaming is merely being aware you're in an dream while dreaming. Control of the dream content comes with that, though control may vary from dream to dream. Still, it's helpful to maintain a positive attitude and just eradicate doubts and fears towards the subject.

You'll find plenty of guides and methods for lucid dreaming...and not all will work...but that's because we are all different.

Spend a little time thinking about how you sleep and how you dream. Think about your daily schedule and how well you recall what happened in your dreams. How you live and sleep will be the main determining factor in how well lucid dreaming will come to you and which methods to try.

For example...I'm a light sleeper, a parent, and I have good dream recall. I also tend to stay up late and wake up early with little time to spend lying in bed remembering my dreams. This means that I need to work better on recall while waking up. It also means that, once I get the kids to school, going back to bed and trying WBTB works best for me because I can enter a dream fairly easily once the house is quieter in the mornings.

You will find the method that works best for you, based on your own habits. No two dreamers are alike because we all have different factors in our lives.

If you haven't already, try reading over this list....it's long, but it'll help you understand a lot of the material presented here. After reading it...think about your sleep habits and how well you can integrate some time to practice lucid dreaming methods. Start here: http://www.dreamviews.com/introducti...-dreaming.html

If you have any questions please post or send any staff member a private message...we're all here to help.

      Pleasant dreams!

Haven't we all ? The good thing about you is that you keep trying, I'm sure at some point you'll become automatic in your efforts. After all, you are here Inspiration is very important along with effort, so try to inspire yourself with movies, books, activities, day dreaming, or even some other people's dreams. We got loads of materials from many dreamers around as you can see.

      Good luck!
