trying too hard to have a lucid dream?

So I've had two lucid dreams already but they were less than 30 seconds in length and really kinda lame. I've been trying and practicing the MILD method a lot every night to have a good LD but I have one question.
Is it a good idea to take a break from trying MILD for a night or should I practice as much as possible?

Try a different method for a night or two then go back . You might find other methods work better for you . Its important to relax and dont be annoyed if it doesnt work .

It's OK to take a break for a night, or for as long as you need. But I would not go method-hopping. Pick one a and stick with it. Otherwise you will not know if it works had you tried for little longer.

Here is a basic MILD tutorial. Please check it out and see, if there is anything you could be doing differently. MILD is a powerful method, but if you added some awareness to it, you would have a better chance of a LD.

So check out the DILD while you at it.

If you trying too hard, it may not work. Maybe that's why some people report having LD the day they stop trying. You really should not be wanting it or trying, you should be more like "I know I'm having LD tonight".

Wishing is just that - hoping that sometimes in the future you will get lucid. But Knowing - that's setting your intent. Just as you set your intent that you will go to school/work in the morning. You don't wish to do so, you know, that it will happen.

Ok thank you. I was wondering if i should just stop trying at all though for a day. I feel like i should do that but at the same time I really don't want to stop trying.

Oh oops I posted a reply before seeing Gab's reply. thanks Gab that helps a lot

Yes, if you decide to take a break, then don't practice during day at all. Few days of a break will not hurt, it may even be good for you. But if you feel like you don't want to take a break, than don't. You just should not get frustrated either way. Do what feel the best.

      Btw, Welcome to Dreamviews!

      Agreed^

Many times, taking a break helps because trying too hard can stress out your mind and having a break from that is very refeshing and will help you adjust better to a technique good luck!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.
