      Thumbs up Hello everyone!

Hi! I am happy that I found you and that I may join this community.

After lurking in some threads all around the forum, I must say I am impressed. I found nothing but interesting topics with great variety and deep and meaningful discussions with valuable insights from experienced lucid dreamers/livers with honest and good intentions. I look forward to read all your stuff (might keep me occupied for a while ) and to contribute when I feel that I can!

I am a student from Denmark, currently 24. I have been interested in LD for about a year now, allthough I remember having two LDs back in my childhood also. Two months ago I started to make a serious and dedicated effort for LD, so by now I can recall 2+ dream scenes (to varying degrees) per sleep and since then I even had three more LDs .

In the beginning, my only aim was to have a LD ASAP to do all the fun and dirty stuff all night every night. Now I can say that I really enjoy the process itself, as dreaming has turned out to be a overwhelmingly vast inner dimension. This is deeeeep... it challenges my beliefs about myself and waking life and what there is to existence. And of course I am still excited to do unlimited fun and dirty stuff all night!

My current challenge is that i experiment with WBTB, but it is hard for me to fall asleep again, because I am overexcited or because I question whether my way of doing it is right... so often I just give up. Any advice what to adjust? The sleep or the waking duration or both? And what to do while awake? Also, my sleep pattern is highly irregular, so that in some periods I barely sleep and in other periods I sleep a lot, so maybe WBTB is not cool for me?

I love your 'Night Mode' button, it shows the spirit of this Forum and makes me wanna chill with you all night!

Welcome to DV, Neizi! Have you tried All Day Awareness (ADA) yet? Also basically any awareness or memory enhancing activities are great to do during the day. My favorite right now is the technique from Stephen LaBerge's MILD chapter, where he recommends watching out for four things throught the day, and the list of four changes each weekday, so today is Sunday and I am watching out for animals, flowers, my reflection in the mirror and truning on light. I am alas not always good at it, but I do feel this technique improves my awareness, and improved awareness is of course key to becoming lucid. Looking forward to getting to know you better! Joanna

Thanks! I just read the ADA/DILD guide by KingYoshi, which I found very nice. I agree with you that awareness is really what all this is about, it greatly enhances the dream world and it also works the other way around, in the sense that the discovery of the dream dimension greatly enhances waking life awareness by questioning its realness. This is how I had my LDs so far, by knowing it even before the RC and the RC is then only a confirmation, as KingYoshi also puts it. I don't think that I lack awareness, to be honest I believe I am one of the most aware and in-the-moment-person I have ever come across. This may come from my interest in eastern philosophy and practicing meditation, as well as I can tell that cannabis has been a great catalyst on my path to awareness. I have never been absorbed by mental concepts about my experiences, but I trust my direct, uninterpreted version of life. And as you mention, this has an effect on memories and I find that I can almost relive many scenes of my life with many details. Anyways, I never thought of it as a particular LD induction exercise, so thanks for making me AWARE of this . So what are you looking out for the other days? I feel like just joining you on this...

Here is a reproduction of this chapter of Stephen LaBerge's book, retyped on dreamviews: http://www.dreamviews.com/attaining-...n-laberge.html

If you have not read Stephen LaBerge's book yet, I highly recommed it. The title is "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming."

okay cool, will start practicing from tomorrow

Yes I have considered getting the book. It seems like a sort of bible for LD, so I might as well buy it. After all, who can be religious without a bible....

Hi Nelzi. It is awesome that you have kept at it and are starting to see results. Some people give up because it takes them longer to actually begin lucid dreaming than others. I personally have had an on and off relationship with lucid dreaming. This is the first time I have gotten serious about it. I began two days ago, and this past night I had two lucid dreams. I also remember all of the nonlucid dreams that I had as well. I look forward to see how each of our journeys and keys surrounding lucid dreaming improve. Good luck at keep at it!

      Welcome to the community, Nelzi!

You say in your first post that you get too excited so you can't fall back asleep - that there is a red flag.

Wake Back To Bed is most effective when you wake up late at night or REALLY early in the morning. If its late enough in the morning that you have the option to get out of bed and start your day, its not an effective time. You want to be groggy and exhausted, and the sun shouldn't be up.

Try an earlier alarm for your WBTB's for a better chance at results. I personally love WBTB around 5AM, followed with SSILD. If you haven't checked out SSILD, its a wonderful place to start, and highly effective!

      Enjoy your time here.
