      New and curious

Hi, I've been browsing the site for a couple months and I finally decided to create an account so that I could join in on the community. I first got into lucid dreaming while doing a research paper on dreams for a project. I actually switched my topic to lucid dreaming, specifically, and finished a 6 page paper on it (all common knowledge). I've had about 4 lucid dreams in the past year all DILD's that last under 10 seconds.

I'm very interested in the DILD method because WILD and WBTB have not really worked for me. I tried keeping a dream journal and had success for a couple months but failed to identify any dream signs. I eventually stopped trying ~6 months ago, but I want to commit to this and have regular lucid dreams. Hopefully this site will push me in the right direction.

      Notes on me:

      - 16 years old
      - Love programming/web design
      - Love philosophy and concept of astral projection/lucid dreaming
      - When motivated, I can do anything

      Hello London, welcome to DreamViews!

Yes, definitely get the dream journaling back up, as it really helps a lot. Not only can you use it for identifying dream signs, but you can use it to evaluate your attempts, figure out your sleeping habits, and generally just familiarize yourself with how your dreaming mind works. If you want, you could use the dream journal feature of the site and we could help you out with finding your dream signs!

If you need anything, feel free to post or send a PM! See you around~

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Thanks for the encouragement, just read through your journal for a bit. Love it! Thanks, again.

      London,
We sound like the same exact person
Welcome to the DV community! We won't bite.

Sounds like you are having stability problems. I have been having those too. I would suggest using mantras like "I stabilize all lucid dreams". Also, if you decide to make your own mantra it's important to never using negative words. Your subconscious doesn't process these words and you will get the opposite effect. Example: "I will not fail at lucid dreaming" turns into "I will fail at lucid dreaming.

      Welcome to DV, london.
It's always a good idea to use DILD. I advise solely focusing on DILD until you get good at it before moving to other techniques. Glad to see you are encouraged to get lucid
