      Determined new person >:(

      Hi!

My name is Jaymee. I'm excited to have found this site! When I was a young child, I naturally had lucid dreams almost every night. I didn't know what they were and I thought it was normal to have complete control over dreams and always be aware of what was happening in them (though this was sometimes my downfall because I would realize that the fantastical thing I was doing was not actually possible, and thus, it would cease to be). As an adult, I can no longer lucid dream; I seem to have lost that ability with childhood (one of the questions I have for this site is whether medication can affect one's ability to lucid dream. I never had issues with it up until I started taking mood medication when I was younger). I hope to be able to start lucid dreaming again.

I'd love to hear everyone's stories and goals! It sounds really exciting, and I fancy the idea that dreams are gateways, or at least glimpses, into the multiverse. Being able to control which one you visit would be great!

      Catch you later!

Hiya, Jaymee. You're lucky to have a natural ability. As for medication affecting it, I'd imagine it would, although I can't offer any advice on that front. You might want to try WILD if you're not already. Anyways, have fun exploring creation from the comfort of your own mind.

Welcome to DV, Jaymee! That sounds like a fun childhood ability. Yes, I do think the medication could have changed your chemical balance making LDing more difficult. However, a child's and an adult's brain are different in so many ways that it could be that something changed there naturally. A lot more children are able to lucid dream more easily than adults. However, as this site's members attest, adults can successfully LD as well. Good luck!

If you were a natural as a child, you may be able to achieve lucidity with little effort as an adult! Good luck, determination is definitely important

Thank you for the warm welcome! It's encouraging to hear that all is not lost when it comes to lucid dreaming I'd read that medications can alter brain chemistry permanently if taken when a child, even if the treatment is stopped. I feel more optimistic that that isn't the case now! Look forward to seeing you all in the forum!
