First Post And First LD

Hello, Im Aaron. I'm 19 and have only just started my journey with LD. I've kept a journal for about a week now logging as much as I remember from each night and practiced daily reality checks. In only a week I have achieved my first lucid dream. I was on a bridge at water level in Portland, knowing the bridge could come up for boats I was trying to cross quickly but the bridge did come up. I turned around to see huge waves of water from both sides filling the bridge and eventually taking me submerged in the water. This is where I became lucid, I was able to stay calm and realize I could breathe underwater making me know I was dreaming. The water took me to a unfamiliar house where I jumped around weightless for a bit then I tried to fly but the ceiling stopped me. I figured I would be able to go through the ceiling? or fly through idk maybe I wasn't strong enough yet or simply I needed open space to fly in lol. but anyway I didn't fly but looked around the room and saw my ex-girlfriend who I explained to that I had achieved lucidness which she didn't really respond too, but kissed me a few times. after telling her I felt as though I had kinda come out of being lucid. thinking about it though I was a little disappointed cause I wasn't and I could have done so much more in my dream. It was the first experience and not my last im excited to journey farther with such a powerful resource. LD makes me excited to be home and sleep ha. any and all comments or thoughts are welcome thanks! (:

I'm sure you will be able to fly through solids in your next LD. Sometimes, it's just matter of experience. This one covers most of the terms you will see members using in much more depth, so start here, The Beginner's Guide to Lucid Dreaming The next thing I suggest you do is to check out the tutorials on specific techniques that the staff have written here, Induction Methods and Techniques. All of these tutorials are written in a very stream lined fashion, and contain just the basic fundamental steps you will need to get started. Also be sure to check out the DVA Dream Views Acadamy, click on this link to get there, DV Academy. Lots of classes are offered on a range of topics. If you are new to LDing then join the intro class, Intro Class. In that class you start your own work book in which you can ask for help on any part of the LDing process you don't understand or are having trouble getting. A whole group of helpful people will read your questions and offer their help. I hope to save you some time by giving you a link to a thread we all put together on the topic Sleep Paralysis. There has been so much misinformation and confusion on this topic, that after a few days on the sight, you would surely run into confusing statements refering to SP. Save yourself some frustration and read this post if you want to know about SP, Sleep Paralysis Explained Now, on the lighter side, you may be excited to learn to fly!
