      Hello!

Hello, my name is Cătălin, I'm 15 years old, from Romania (EU), and looking forward to LDing.
The first time I heard about lucid dreaming was about 1 year ago, while talking to a girl friend.
This is my first day here, I had a look in the forums, and it seems a nice place to learn and practice, so here I am, writing my thread.

Welcome to DV, Cătălin! This is definitely a good place if you want any advice, tips or just people to share your experiences with!

Umh, I got a single question, what technique would you recommend for newbies?

It depends on what is easier for you. Personally, I'd start doing reality checks during the day, as much as possible... DILD is the for me, but WILD is also very popular (I've always been quite obsessed with it, even though it never worked for me), so you could read about them and more on our Wiki page. But the truth is that the only way of finding out which technique is good for you is you trying them out.

Also, how is your dream recall? Starting a dream journal is always good!

Welcome to DV, Catalin! The techniques recommended by DV staff are located here: Induction Methods and Techniques

For a beginner I would recommend first focusing on improving your dream recall with a dream journal, reality checks and raising awareness throughout the day. Then you might want to look at the DILD and MILD techniques first, since those are generally easier for most beginners. However, there are exceptions, and different techniques work better for different people. Over time you will hopefully discover what works best for you.
You may say I'm a dreamer.

Welcome to DV. Like JoannaB said, start with a dream journal. This way you will be able to work on remembering your dreams first, before you start trying to control them. This also helps you to log any unique dream signs you may have that you may be able to use as triggers to become lucid. I hope you stick around and keep trying. I joined in 2010 and although I don't get much time to practice LDing these days, I'm still trying and I know that I have the support I need here at DV to become better at controlling my dreams. Such a wonderful ability to master!
