I don't have a dream journal yet, but sleeping with the intention to remember my dreams along with some mantras and trying to remember my dreams in the morning have improved my dream recall by quite a bit and I think I'm having more vivid dreams as well. I can remember four separate dreams I had last night. I've been trying to have DILDs and religiously practice reality checks, again, with mantras and devotion, but I never do it in my dreams in - no matter how crazy the dreams get. Last night I was dreaming about being in The Walking Dead world. My helicopter had broken down and as I saw walkers coming, I carried the frickin helicopter on my back and started running- and my brain somehow made sense of it, like there was nothing unusual about that
How do I get myself to do an RC in a dream? How did you first do it?
Is it too early for me to be asking these questions? ( I'm kind losing my patience here
Also, is a dream journal absolutely essential?
Thank you for your time. any help is appreciated
Welcome to Dreamviews!
First of all, don't be losing your patience. Lucid dreams can't be forced. They are elicited by our intent and of course practicing awareness, RCs and mantras. Patience is the key.
The consensus on Dreamviews is, that Dream Journal is essential to have a good recall. Although thinking about your dreams and going to sleep with intent of remembering them is really great and will certainly help you, they can not replace journaling. Any form on DJ is good. It comes down to personal preference, if you partial to paper or electronic form.
RCs will show up in your non-lucids sooner or later, no worries. The most important thing is, that you really put emotions into them, and you couple them with awareness. Everytime you RC, believe that it will work, because you could be in a dream at that very moment.
We accept dreams, no matter how crazy they are, for normal, because in dreams we don't have access to our daytime memory. This can be helped with practicing daytime awareness. The more aware you will become during day, the more aware you will be in your dreams. If you check out that RCing tutorial, you will see defferent reasons you can RC for. Best way is to mix it up. Read up and let us know all your questions, we will be happy to answer. Happy dreams
