Well this is my first post and I thought why not join and chat with others about lucid dreaming.

I really took interest in lucid dreaming probably about a year and a half ago and began journaling then for about 4 months off and on. I took about a 10 month break from it and really got back into it in the last couple of months. I have really done alot of research on lucid dreaming and have tried alot of different methods for it. So far I have achieved total lucidity about 6 times and mild lucidity about 4 or 5 times. The only method I have been successful with is DILD. I have tried MILD with minimal success. I have been working on WILD for quite awhile trying different techniques and have gotten partial sleep paralysis and have had many hypnagogic images (which usually jerk me back to reality).

I have tried to use alot of different herbal supplements ranging from ginko-biloba to galantamine. The ginko may have helped a bit with my recall but nothing that I have taken has worked like magic. When I have tried to take galantamine I usually cant get back to sleep for a few hours after I take it. I have also tried a few induction devices, mostly recordings with binural beats and apps on the phone which are supposed to give you a cue when you enter REM, all these seem to do is keep me awake or wake me up as soon as I hear them. One thing I do have going for me is that I can usually fall asleep pretty darn fast (as long as I dont have ear phones in).

For my lucids, my longest has probably been around the minute mark or so and was probably my most enjoyable and rememberable one since it lasted more than the usualy 10 seconds.

Ok well that is about it, except for the fact that my wife thinks I am a weirdo for doing all of this to try to obtain lucidity. I try to tell her how amazing it is to know that you are in a dream and can do absolutely anything you want to with it feeling so absolutely real.
