      Hello from a spanish dreamer

      Hi!

My name is H, and I´m from Spain. I have been lucid dreaming since I have memory, but never realized that was something different until a few years ago, when I started researching about it. Studying psychology I met a friend which made me think more seriously about this and we started together to try new things.

I remember having dreams when I was a kid where I realized I was dreaming, and I looked to the sky thinking about something I really wanted until it appeared. But I started having my main lucid dream after facing a recurrent nightmare, when I was about 12-14. For some years I had a nightmare where something was staring me in front of my bed, and I tried to move but it was imposible. Neither to turn the light on or to call my parents for help. When I was a kid I tough this was real, and I was scared of it. But at some point, near 14 years old, I started thinking this was just a dream. It went worse because when I tried to wake up from the dream, I had false awakenings, waking again into the nightmare, ant that could be repeated for like 8-10 times. One night I was so angry about the nightmare that I tried to move, feeling pain in my body, until I reached this presence staring at me and I strangled it. After that I didn´t wake up, and I was sitting in my bed thinking what to do, so I decided to go out to the street through the window. Since then, until now, I never had that nightmare again, but I use to wake up in bed in a lucid dream. Every time I move to a new bed, the dream changes to the new bedroom.

I found this page quite recently, looking for more experiences about lucid dream. I had one year where I saw this friend a lot, and we tried many things with lucid dreams, so I dreamed a lot. Now I´m not having many lucid dreams, and I even have periods where I´m worried about something and I don´t remember any dream, waking up in the morning with a blank mind. I don´t like this, and I would like to keep improving and learning new things. But sometimes, I lack the motivation to, and I don´t know why being dreaming something that important for me.

I´m looking forwars to use this forum and read about your experiences. I´m sure this will motivate me! Thanks to all of you.

Thanks! Never tought about it like sleep paralysis, since it always started like a normal dream. I woke up in bed, able to move, and tried to swith on the lights, that where not working, and then I started to get scared. Now I have the same dream, where I woke up in bed, and it takes me some time until I can slowly get out of the bed, trying to not wake up and maintain the dream.

      Hey H!

That's so cool that you overcame that nightmare by facing it like you did. I've had a few lucid dreams where I would wake up into another dream over and over again, it's a terrible experience. I've also had similar nightmares to yours and I know how scary they can be. So I'm really glad that you were able to do that, really neat!

I joined DreamViews for similar reasons, I also love to keep improving and learning new things, and there are so many experienced and talented dreamers here that love to help. I'm glad that you decided to join this forum and I'm sure that you'll find plenty of motivation here. I personally really enjoy doing the Tasks of The Month and the Lucid Dares.

      See you around.
