Hi everyone! I'm new and confused.

Hi everyone! I kinda joined here a few days ago. I came across your site when I was searching for the guy who always appears in my dreams. Different look and different race, but I know it's him. This guy, always saves me when I'm in trouble and comforts me when I'm down (only in my dreams). He always make sure that I get home safel. He'd walk me to the car, row the boat to bring me home, etc. The last dream I had, he was watching me accross the street. When I went home I didn't notice that we are in the same bus. Surprisingly, the bus stopped in front of my house and that is the only time I saw him. But upon reading some forums here about having feelings or being inlove with someone in a dream. In my dreams, I always have feelings for this person. Though, I think it's not the same for him. What I know is that he cares for me alot, but I think not in a romantic way.
Please help me clarify this if he is my guide or just a dream fling.

I've been having this type of dream for a really long time. I'm glad I found this site and talk about my dream without being judged.

Firstly, welcome to Dream Views

It's quite common for recurring characters to appear when you are dreaming and often they represent a certain part of yourself. To me he sounds very protective and supporting and maybe that's something you desire from somebody in waking life. Do you feel like you don't have enough support from the people around you?
You mention that he has a different look and sometimes even a different race, so I may suggest to you that this could be many different characters that you're projecting a specific archetype onto because you feel that you need this kind of character in your dream.

Perhaps you should spend some time in the attaining lucidity section of the forum learning to become aware of your dreams so you can ask him yourself if he is your guide or what he represents

I've had a similar dream character recurring in my dreams as well. I've actually been seeing her in my dreams since I was 10 years old and she seems to always be about the same age as me.
I get really excited whenever I see her in my dreams again because I feel really connected with that particular dream character. I'm personally not very fond of labels like 'dream guide' because they are quite vague and they can mean different things to different people. I like to think that my dream character is what she is and I appreciate that I get to have a cool dream character that's always helping me and loving me unconditionally.

Most people would probably call him your guide though.

I like Araishu's advice, you should totally ask him what or who he is!

Thank you for your reply! Gosh! I'm glad I'm not alone. Though, there is this sadness everytime you wake up. Also, that kind of dream only happens to me like 1-2x a month. Before that dream, I can still remember him saying to me that he is very disappointed with me. It was crazy! It felt real, I mean as if he was really there with me. I woke up with a heavy heart.

I know what you mean, I would always feel that sadness as well when I would wake up. I like how dreams can affect us so profoundly, especially when the connections and the feelings that we experience in them are so real to us.

Welcome to DV, Shoyolet!

You certainly don't need to worry about sharing your experiences and being judged here. There are many dreamers who have experienced reoccuring characters at one point or another. My experiences are more limited in this area but I have to admit that every once in a while an interesting DC that matches such a description would show up. One very interesting observation I have made in my accounts as well as in many other accounts is that such DCs almost always are of the opposite gender. Makes me wonder...
