      Can anyone validate my experience?

      Hello there,

I had a really weird experience I hope someone can validate at least part of my experience. Anyhow a quick bit of background.
I've been interested in Lucid dreaming probably for about a year, read about it, watched videos, kept a journal for all of about a week then stopped. I had had dreams in the past where I remember flying etc and thought maybe those could have been lucid, now i'm not so sure.

Then on holiday I was bored for something to listen to and came across Dream Views podcast (I can't even remember how).
Since I got back i've kept a dream journal on and off, tryed to WILD most nights this week and improve my awareness.

So yesterday I signed up on Dream Views and when I went to bed I felt a quiet confidence that I could have a lucid dream (which was different from usual). Had a normal dream which I felt I had good recall of for me. Then I had another dream fairly normal, in the dream
I needed to go take a pee. Went up some stairs then Wham everything felt so intense, like the lights had been switched on and the dream character was really in my face. I couldn't move but just was in a state of shock to start with. Then the character asked me to do something for them later which I didn't really want to, I mean it was my lucid dream I wanted to fly idk do something not help this dream character out. But I thought why not as I agreed I felt a massive warmth and love radiating from me as a bright light and seriously intense feeling which continued for a time. I then went into another normal dream.

I awoke feeling quite overwhelmed with emotion and with the physical sensation of tingling and warmth over my chest area. This lasted strongly for about half an hour while I pondered over what had happened, It was very personal to me and a revelation as to what unconditional love actually was and how I had mistaken other things for love in my life.

As time has gone on today I have begun to doubt myself more and more as to whether it did happen except for the sensation in my chest which still recurs. Was it just extreme excitement?

If anyone has anything to say I would be very glad to hear it. Also I remember something similarly intense happening one time before.

Thank you for having this community here. And to Kraid and Ophelia for the podcast that started this all for me.

      to DV, MeohMyoh!

Doubt not! You had a lucid dream! Congrats!!!

It's normal for dream experiences to start fading as time passes by - even the intense and long ones. So, after waking up, be sure to recall your dream and then journal it. This helps commit it to memory. Also, the feelings of excitement are something we all come cross when lding. Having an ld is a great experience and in the majority of cases I wake up with a smile on my face and on some occassions feeling very energized too.

Thanks that is such a relief. I'm hoping to have some more positive experiences as my daughter is slightly interested/slightly thinks i'm crazy. I hope I can get her hooked too.

Wow what a profound experience, I'm really happy that you got to experience that!
I've had similar lucid dreams and they've changed my life. I hope your daughter likes lucid dreaming too.

Welcome to dreamviews and I hope to see you around!

Thanks AnotherDreamer, I really want to make a go of LD.

I'm a bit confused about exactly where to start here at Dream View but slowly, slowly I should get there. Probably very slowly in my case, as i'm usually going a bit cross-eyed looking at stuff on here, by the end of the day.

I'm sure that you'll be amazing at lucid dreaming with your kind of dedication. A lot of people get interested and then give up after a couple weeks when they realize that it actually takes work. It's such an amazingly rewarding endeavor though, both psychologically and spiritually. I can understand, there is so much information and so many different places you can go. You've probably already found a lot of this stuff, but here are some links that people usually post in the intro zone, maybe some of them will help you.

      http://www.dreamviews.com/welcome/14...ful-links.html
      - I think there's a link to the podcast here, as well as a ton of other awesome links if you want to listen to more of those. I really like the ones by CanisLucidus and Ophelia.

DV Academy - Classes if you want to join one. Intro class and DILD class are pretty good if you want some guidance by great teachers like Nyxcc (I think she teaches the intro class) and you don't have a ton of experience in LDing yet.

DV Tutorials - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views - You can find some tutorials here in the wiki, but there are a couple other places to find more.

Feel free to send me or any other dream guide a private message if you have any more questions.

It had to happen...MeohMyoh by name...
Its probably best if I call it a night here. I've probably been on here about 2 hours idek and total...total fail *sound effect please*
I had a friend request I didn't even know about! Yes Yes I'll friend You i'll friend anyone...who are you? who am I? Where am I? I hope I am dreaming!

I've even failed at chat. Went in couldn't work out how to chat. Came out. Found chat forum for noobs.
Went back into chat. Totally failed again Oo.

Um LD prep is starting to seem a lot less daunting now i've been here a while.
I think I deserve a sticker, a double lartay (even tho I don't drink coffee!!) , my own private straight jacket with fury collar.
and you guys deserve a badge of honour.

*Takes lots of deep breaths* then promptly goes into catatonic shock (but only as i'm a cat don't worry, tho I hope you did a lil).

I would private chat you if I knew how, is it same as email? but instead I'll just have to totally embarrass myself in public.

oh btw I have been checking out podcasts so thank you again.

I'm gonna chill and watch one of my favourite romantic movies.
