I grew up in Nova Scotia, lived in Vancouver for about 15 years, and currently reside in Sacramento with my wife, stepdaughter, and two cats. I love all the crazy, random (and maybe even meaningful) stuff that goes on in that inner multiverse we call dreaming. I've been into lucid dreaming since about the mid-to-late 1980's, but so far have never gotten my frequency of lucid dreams higher than about 1/month; I aspire to increase that considerably at some point...hopefully.
When I read The Lord of the Flies in high school, I identified strongly with both the scientist and the mystic; at this point my inner scientist/rationalist is ascendant. I am both attracted and somewhat unnerved by the more shamanic possibilities of dreaming. I (finally!) attended an afternoon workshop by Stephen LaBerge less than a year ago, which was thrilling. Other interests include: virtual reality, science, science fiction, gaming, open culture, spirituality, meditation, altered states.
I'm active on Google Plus and Twitter...but apparently I'm not allowed to link there until I've been active here for 7 days.
I first heard of this forum in Daniel Love's wonderful book Are You Dreaming? I'm here now because a) I was reminded of this forum's existence by Mr. Love's very exciting Kickstarter project for
The Lucid Dreamer's Guide to the Cosmos, which I am enthusiastically supporting, b) I miss the Lucidity Institute forum, which I used to participate in a lot for several years a rather long time ago. I'm not sure how much I'll participate here but I'm interested in checking the space out.
As far as I know I am not Mulkurul. Fnord.
