Hi Wolffe,
And welcome
I'm not an expert, rather a lucid beginner like you. Aquanina or the other Dream Guides can give you more valuable help.
My personal rule, that I guess is correct, is to write down every single detail that you can recall from any dream. Even details that might seem not useful can become actually useful for interpretation and as an exercise in dream recall (a necessary step towards LD).
As to interpretation, often it's the less relevant detail that leads to the final "solution" of a dream. As to LD, more you put on your dream journal, more dream signs can emerge later.
If your question was about how many details are in a dream, I think that every dream is a real world with every detail. It's up to our memory to recall each of them.
Keep dreaming!
