      Just saying hello

Just wanted to say hello and thanks for such an informative site to learn
to lucid dream. I myself have never had a lucid dream but I am extremely wanting to
have my first. I have been working on dreaming for several months and keep a dream journal
but I have a very hard time recalling my dreams. I am trying several methods from this site that has helped
me get close but just not quite there. Through WILD I have gotten to the stage where I see flashing lights in my eyelids and have gotten vibrations throughout my body and even the other night got to the point where I felt like I was floating
but it just stops there and I cannot go Lucid. SO I also now this week am trying several dream enhancing herb tinctures in
tea to help and will inform the board if any of my herbal tea tinctures help induce a Lucid.

      Hey DreamVR, welcome to DV!

It's great that you're starting to see progress - those hypnagogic hallucinations (the flashing lights, vibrations, and floating feeling) mean you're getting pretty close. I'd say keep it up, you're well on you're way, it's only a matter of time.

Let us know if you have any questions, and feel free to swing by the IRC chat if you wanna talk.

Thanks guys. I have experimented with Mugwort, Calea Z, Damiana, Ashwagandha, Passion Flower,
      Chamomile, Valerian, Catnip.

So far my best dreams I can remember are on Calea Z mixed with passion flower. However, when I mix these 2
I end up having my heart race which is not a good thing.

Looking over my dream journal every time I have mixed Calea Z with something I ended up remembering some dreams.
But still none of them Lucid and not the most vivid.

I will keep experimenting and see if anything else helps me dream.

Spellbee2 once I got to the part where I felt like I was floating what should I have done?
I tried RC Nose pinch but nothing happened. Or when I get to the flashing lights in my eye lids
what is the trick from there?

      Thanks again

      Welcome to the forum!

It seems to me these herbs have a bit of a sedative effect and might possibly have a negative effect on recall.

Perhaps try green tea combined with a wbtb, or a small amount of B6 ?

The herbs have been a blessing because at least I am dreaming when I take them. I am someone that if they did dream would never remember their dreams. With particular herbs it seems I am dreaming a lot more and also I can remember the dream enough to write them down the next day. I have tried the herbs with Green Tea instead of Passion Flower and with Green Tea I can't sleep so the Passion Flower seems to be working for me. But I have to be careful because the Passion Flower makes whatever I use with it to be stronger.

I tried last night the Passion Flower Tea with Damiana and Calea Z extracts and had some nice dreams and was able to write them down again. I will continue messing with herbs to find the right mix but things look promising.

B6 I am going to try that as well...

Ok, I might be on to something here for me at least. Before I started taking herbal extracts I hardly ever could remember dreaming.
Since I have been taking herbs I dream and remember my dream almost every night now. Last night I tried a new TEA
called Relaxing Tea that I bought from Whole Foods. It has Valerian, Passion Flower, Chamomile, and other herbs in it.
I added my Calea Z extract and Damiana extract and I had 5 dreams last night that I could remember. It felt like every time
I woke up and went back to sleep I went into another dream and another. Unfortunately still none of them were Lucid or put me
into a reality check but hopefully some day soon I will get there. But being able to dream and remember my dreams regularly is a big
start and looking back at my dream journal so far Calea Z has been my best dream producing herb.

Hi DreamVR, welcome to DreamViews! \( ^_^)/

The VR in your name wouldn't happen to be short for Virtual Reality, would it? And I second spellbee about the chat, it's a great place to talk about LDing or just hangout and chat about anything.

Good luck on your lucid progress, I'll be seeing you around the forum!

Nice! I have a rift myself, so awesome. I think VR could be used to help induce lucid dreams in a way, as you're in a artificial world like dreams and you really have that presence. I actually did have a LD one night right after playing a VR game.
