      Arrow Coming Back

      Hi Everyone.

I joined this site some years ago when I first learned about lucid dreaming. Since then, I've been lazily attempting to get into the habit of doing reality checks, keeping an on-and-off dream journal, and overall just not trying very hard over the past ~5 years. Up until now, I've never had a routine, being home schooled and being able to get up and sleep practically as much as I want to. But now, I'm in college. And I want to get serious. So, a few questions along with me re-introduction:

How do you stay consistent? How do you remember to do reality checks, and write down dreams? And what are some good ways to stay motivated? I'm feeling good about this time around, and I really want this to be the last time I start from scratch again.

Ok, maybe it wasn't the greatest introduction, but cut me some slack.

      Slack cut.

      Welcome back home!!

And to try to answer your question - I think the key word is lazily. It takes a pretty intense and concerted effort to break through the natural laziness of the brain and start to develop awareness in sleep. You have to attain escape velocity, and that can't be done by driving a weak 4 cylinder Toyota up a hill, you need to build a metal Saturn Booster and stand it up and blast off under great force. It takes the united intensity of emotion and focused thinking to get there.

That was supposed to say mental, not metal. Though that almost works I suppose.

If you never had too get up at the same time before this should be easy for you, just make writing in your journal equally as important as getting up in the morning make it hard core habit you are unable to forget, reality checking works best with spontaneity so everytime you see somthing odd or unusual remember too ask yourself about your current state.
That being said i also have lazy spells , and sometimes i just let my mind regroup a few nights or weeks and then dreams will be more awesome after.
