Coming back... Again...

Hello Everybody!

You may have seen me in some threads in the last couple of days, but I decided to make an official comeback and write here.

I have been a proud member of DreamViews for 4 years now... That means a significant part of my life. I have never been active on any other forum in my life, I haven't felt the need. Coming here felt different... For me, his is the most "human" feeling place on the internet, with great people, great and diverse discussions and great knowledge. This may seem strange to read given the fact that I have only posted about 15 times in 4 years, but this is how I feel.

I started my career here in 2012, gained great knowledge and about 5 lucids. Then Waking Life came, destroying everything I had worked for, fortunately in a positive sense. My first serious relationship started in that year (still going strong

), there were family issues, I experienced severe depression for nearly 1 year, and there was school to top it all. I simply forgot about this fantastic place and LDing in general. Then on the summer of 2013 I had a spontaneous LD. I remembered DV, came back for some weeks, gained some more invaluable knowledge...

In September the same bad stuff happened, cutting my practice short.

I can't believe it has been 3 years since I last visited this site regularly. This time I hope to become a little more active and maybe taking part in challenges and competitions in the future. In the last days I have gone through a lot of threads, making myself up to date a little, and I have to say I am dazzled by the amount of phenomenal information and knowledge and great guides on this site.

I am considering compiling many of the tutorials that have greatly influenced my thinking and techniques into a beginner-friendly but fairly complex guide sometime in the future. It would be nice if someone could clarify whether or not I need permission for that.

All in all, it is nice to be back. I hope to stay now.

I'm sure nobody knows me here, but I had to get these feelings out, this is a truly nice place on the internet!

I feel exactly the same way about DV! I've been a member for over a year, but I've been essentially just a lurker and have never actually posted much or joined in any discussions. Life gets busy, and so many things seem to come up that distract me from this great forum and from LDing in general.

Despite not posting a lot, though, I love DV and read a lot of posts and discussions on the forum regularly. The sense of community here is amazing, and I am so excited to have the opportunity to actually talk with other people who share my interest in LDs. There are so many incredible teachers, mentors, and other lucid dreamers on this site!

I have never taken part in any of the competitions like the Task of the Month, mainly because my frequency of LDs has not been that high, but I hope to change that very soon

Thank you for the update, it's always great to hear from returning members what brings them back and what they have been up to while they were not here.

You, ThePlayer and DreamingNow are speaking from my heart. There is no other forum like this and it feels like home to me. Thank you both for your words, and just so you know, this place would not be possible without you and other members like you. So thank YOU!

If you planning on using work of others, you would need to credit the author of the tutorial and possibly link to the original post/tutorial. When you are ready to do the compilation, please contact me to confirm.

Welcome back! I too recently came back after a long time and I agree Dreamviews is the most friendly forum I have seen. I am interested in your meta guide sort of thing. Dreamviews has acumulated so much information over the years it would be great to have a guide to find all the best guides! I look forward to seeing it.

Of course, this is the least I could do.

Actually links and quotes from the guides would be a major part of the text, I just want to stitch them together by highlighting the important details in an easy to understand way.

I won't have enough time for this for about 4 more weeks, I have many exams, but I will be sure to contact you with a draft or a finished text.

Hi and welcome back to DreamViews, ThePlayer! I feel the same way that you do about DV, it's the only place on the internet that I've seen that's so friendly and accepting of everyone.

I'd been on some forums before DV but none of them had this feeling of community and good natured-ness that DV does. It's certainly a gem on the internet. Glad to hear others feel the same, and like gab said, it wouldn't be this way if not for great members such as yourself

You should come and drop by the chat sometimes, it's a great place to hang out and chat about anything.
