Hello Everyone newbie from Brownwood, TX

      Hello everyone,
I am so excited to be here!! I am looking forward to reading, sharing, and learning on this site. I have had LD a little bit for many years. I haven't had any for a while until just recently in the past few months. I have read a few books in the past and practiced some. I find it interesting and want to continue where I left off. The first LD I had I didn't do anything, I just had it. I had heard about LD but I thought it was just something my ex made up, was I shocked when I had on. So I decided to read more about it. I still haven't been able to have a LD that I created so I would like to learn to control it.
Thanks, for letting me join. love and light to all.
      LG

      Welcome to the forum.

Lucid dreaming doesn't have to be about controlling the dream, it can be just as much about going with what the dream wants to do itself, in a manner of speaking; lucid dreaming at heart is probably just about being aware of the dreaming in the moment that it's happening. Either way, it's an experience well worth delving further into.

What have you read so far about lucid dreaming? A good start for all beginners can be reading La Berge's "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming", as it goes into many of the foundations required for paying attention both to lucid dreams and also to non-lucid dreams.

I don't want to control the dreams per se, I just want to be able to control the going into the dreams. Right now I just have them, when ever they decide to come. I don't want to always control the dreams. But it is fun to fly around and drive up buildings in my car. lol thanks for the suggestion I will find the book and read it. I read/listened to" Lucid Dreaming" by Charlie Morley, "Lucid Dreaming Conscious sleeping" by Charlie Morley and "Lucid Dreaming Made Easy" also by Charlie Morley. I am a big fan of Hay House. lol I started "Lucid living Waking Up to Life" by Timothy Freke. It has been a while though that I read them. I stopped lucid dreaming for quite a while and have had some again.

Right, I misunderstood what you'd meant about control then. I think for most people that aren't naturals at dreaming lucidly, it's almost a given that the interest in lucid dreaming also involves wanting to be able to influence when you actually have lucidity.

I would say that if it's been a while since you've read those works, that you could actually go back and read them again a bit before you get into something new too; for one thing, it might be more convenient for you and besides that, reading about dreaming and lucidity on its own can be good at keeping your mind actively interested in the subject and therefore also more "vigilant" about a dreaming state too.

Yes I agree I ordered that book today. Once I finish it I will be looking for other reading material if you have any more suggestions, I'd appreciate it.

I'm afraid that just right now I don't have any other books I can think of suggesting, not without actually going back and reading through some of the small amount of stuff I have myself.

However, I do suggest you check out the DV book club run by Hilary here on DV: https://www.dreamviews.com/book-club/

In that section you can look through previous book club suggestions and readings, which may be of some help.
