      A little introduction

      Hi everyone
Thought I'd introduce myself. I'm now 20 years old and have been looking into lucid dreaming since I first read some articles on it in a tv magazine when I was about 9 years old. I used to have nightmares then and I started lucid dreaming and succesfully reduced the number of nightmares to about a handful each year. Well for what I can remember at least. It's a shame I haven't really bothered to do more with it in the meantime. I've always thought of it as very very cool to do, but I just don't make the time for it during the day to prepare for the night. I go to sleep pretty late too, to give an example of my motivation. Now I occasionally have a 'lucid dream' in which I tell myself I'm dreaming and go off throwing bad guys in the air with my telekinetic abilities, but I still don't think it really fully gets trough to me that I'm dreaming. I remember my dreams sometimes but they never really make sense. They're just a collection of stuff happening, with me going from one place to another, but no coherent storyline of any kind. So I have some questions to you now:

I would like to hear some experiences and pointers from people who used to be pretty preoccupied with the day and unmotivated to do anything about their dreaming experience, but who finally started doing it anyway. Like what got you to start properly? Maybe a sort of build-up plan.

And sort of a weird question. But when I become lucid I usually want to do all the cool stuff right away, which is pretty much how I am during the day, I get an idea and I want to do it, no matter what sort of important stuff (like studying) I'm supposed to do. One of the things I sometimes do is seek out a female to do you-know-what :-) Problem is: it never really works out the way I want it. The girl always ends up totally small and skinny and out of proportion. Now I wonder how to do something about that. A few things could be related to this. First, I have trouble with depth perception (heavy glasses) and sometimes wonder about how stuff looks smaller one time than the other. Second, I'm into drawing, so I pay alot of attention to proportions in real life as well. It's either that or I'm too picky and my dream is trying to tell me that I'm a jerk. Or maybe it's cause I'm a control freak? Anyway, any input or personal experience on this is greatly appreciated.

      Thanks

Hey there, welcome to the forum! It's great that you taught yourself how to overcome your nightmares through lucid dreaming.

As far as your questions...you simply just need to get motivated. If you want to lucid dream...you just gotta make the decision to put in the time and effort. Like anything else. You'll only get out of it as much as you are willing to put into it. So...if it means doing more reality checks, getting to bed earlier, writing in your dream journal every morning...etc. it's just stuff you need to DO! And believe me, lucid dreaming is well worth the effort.

When it comes to lucid dreaming activities I was like you alot. I used to just go find boys to play with...but I always had problems. I could never get the right person to show up. Or if they did show up their face would always morph into someone or something else it it freaked me out a bit. So I don't really waste my time having lucid sex anymore. I think there's alot more rewarding things you can do in an LD that don't mess with your mind.

      welcome

if you want to lucid dream, make time during the day to do reality checks, and get at least 7 hours of sleep. writing in a DJ consistently should increase the coherency of your dreams (well, sometimes anyways )

as far as you dream sex problems, can't really help you. maybe you should start with enormous women, hehe.
i've found dream sex is mostly a waste of time when lucid..there are much cooler things to do which one can't in waking life. mostly i just limit myself to a quick groping if its a particularly hot girl.
