I remember when IceDawg changed the forum from the old one to this one and quite a few peeps were worried and wary about the change, but it looks like everyone got used to it and likes it even more than the old one now. At first I didnt like the new forum myself but found it had more features and stuff and the 'blue' and 'white' feel started to grow on me so much that I don't even remember what the old one was like anymore. I suspect in a years time everyone will look back and say 'whoa! isn't DV even better than before. A dedicated server and promotion to attract even more members has got to be good Go with the flow!

Websites like this arent cheap. And especially if you bought it. Then you need to make up for it. Besides, I visit sites with many adds. As long as the site is good and the ads not too intursive. Its OK.

Oh, and as luciddreamgod indicated, I'm a polyphasic sleep nut as well.
I've got a holiday from it at the moment, due to a steady flow of partying visitors, but will be getting into it again soon.
Especially if Steve Pavlina decides to do it again

As for Kaniaz being an old-timer - yeah, that's true. He's been a obnoxious member of this forum for some time now.
It's a love-hate thing. He can be a pain in the butt, but he's usually got something valuable to say too.

Like; the community, basically. It's just an amazingly unique forum. You talk about things here which are just impossible elsewhere... great vibe.
Dislike; layout is my only major annoyance at the moment. I'd like it if you could get a proper skin for this place, and sort out all the messy icons and everything. We were gonna change it, but the old Art Team was disbanded when we switched forum software... oh, and also, some of the website sections are a bit broken, or need updating.

By the way, you may have been asked this elsewhere, in which case I apologise, but why is it exactly that the company you work for has decided to purchase this place?

Hmmm... I'm a little suspicious of people who think sleep is a waste of time and hack sleep patterns to be more "productive". I had a boss once who tried to convince me all i needed was 3 hours sleep so that I could deliver newspapers for him in the morning before my regular job.

I don't like the sound of advertising at all, but I've never been an optimist. We'll see.

As for changes I'd like to see, how about some more functionality in the Dream Journals? Better searches for your DJ, related keywords. A better layout. Check out the available dream journaling software available online (most of them pay) to see the various options they offer

Fair enough. But hacking your sleep patterns goes *way beyond* becoming a better worker bee. There's talk about setting up a "polyphasic sleep" sub-forum, and I know at least one other person at the board here has experimented with that.

I like this sub-forum idea. I'd like to learn more about polyphasic sleep.

Polyphasic sleep is waaaay beyond me. I've got a family that expects me to be consious between the hours of 5am and 11pm.

AMEN to that. Wife, kids, parents, co-workers, customers... We're in the phase of life known as "responsible".

Got a wife and child myself, and of course a little bit of work too.

Accommodating all that (and more) and still taking 2+ naps per day isn't always easy, but it is possible if you can work out agreements with the affected parties. It also helps that I control my own work environment and hours to a significant extent.

Many of my most vivid dreams have come during naps, especially during the early stages of altering my sleep patterns.
