      Trouble sleeping

The first thing i did when i found this site was to read the info on the main page, it said that to increse dream recall one should try to concentrate on remembering your dreams, when I do this I feel it's hard to actually fall asleep, any tips on what i should do?

Thats normal. I used to have this kind of problem. Be monotonous. I used to repeat myself the words:

I am sleeping: Dreams are comming:

When you feel you are near sleep while repeating this, stop. And let yourself go.

      Did it work?

Do you have a regular bed and awake time? Following a regular sleep schedule as closely as possible can help you to sleep better.

If you do have a fairly regular schedule already try adding on or hacking off an hour and see how you feel upon waking. Some people don't need the recommended 8 hours sleep and will toss and turn for hours before actually getting to sleep.

      And welcome to Dream Views.
Hope you catch some zzz's soon.

ok thanks i'll try your tips tonite.

i'll try to regulate my bed and awake time. I have been going to bed too late at night for the past couple of nights because I sleep to long in the mornings , ill correct that

thanks for the welcome, i hope to have some nice lucid dreams soon

should I also try to wake up during/after REM? I think the main page recomends it for a clearer memory.

No offense to anybody here who's given advice, but in my humble opinion, one should not keep a constant bedtime; ONLY a constant wakeup time. By only going to bed when tired, but waking at a certain time no matter what, you train your body to "set" your sleep schedule back a few hours, and thus you don't waste as much time trying to fall asleep.

As for waking up after REM periods... unless you do it naturally, I don't know HOW to wake from REM, short of getting lucky with an alarm clock. Apparently, people wake after EVERY dream, but the awakening is so subtle that most people forget. I'd like to tell you I know a way to make those wakings more substantial, but I don't, honestly.

Other than that, do what everybody else said. ^^

Seems to be pretty smart. You know. Achieving the same in indirect way. May prove to be even more effective, becouse you set the rules and let the nature do the rest.

Yeah. You might also want to look at other things, like what you ate that day, how much sleep you got the previous night, etc etc.

But just in basic rule, if you focus or concentrate on one thing too much, it is a little harder for your mind to fall asleep.
You do this every fucking time.
      No sweat.
      No tears.
      No guilt.
You do this every fucking time.
