      Like Whooa...and a question.

So yeah! For the past year or so I've been writing down various dream experiences in my sketchbook and sometimes sketching the surroundings I was immersed in. For some reason, I hadn't thought to get online and see if there were any sites dedicated solely to dreaming...apparently there are.
Anywaysss, I've been an avid dreamer ever since I can remember...my earliest dream recollection stretches back to when I was three years old and I was at someone else's house. Over the past year I've taken a keen interest in this awesome phenomenon and yeah! I suppose I'll have to post a few of the more interesting dreams from my sketchbook on here sometime.
In any case, I have a question.

Has anyone ever encountered a perceived entity that's like a Cloud of Black? But yet it can take on a humanoid form and attack you? I constantly run into this antagonist and only recently have I been able to somewhat Lucidly dream in order to fend off attacks..

Hi. Im Xynos and welcome to Dream Views! *throws auto-answer machine out the window*

Ahem- anyway. Seems you've naturally developed your own dream journal. (http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...splay.php?f=26)

Im impressed. Anyway. You should come to realise that most things in your dreams are random. So that cloud of black wont be something "everyone gets" or anything like that (probably, at least, i think so!).

Back to lucid dreaming. It is true that if you become lucid you could "fend off attacks" and do pretty much else whatever you want. (Lots of people with nightmares benefit from lucid dreaming).
With this in mind you MUST remember that NOTHING in your dreams can hurt you, as this would probably hinder your lucidity.

      Hope this helps!

To start out, ! secondly, I haven't encountered it in a cloud of black, usually its like a common household object. i dont know if its the same thing as your talking about but i have had the same type experiences.

start keeping a Dream Journal, i'd llike to read some of them.

      Thanks!
Yeah, the last time I met up with it was two weeks ago or so..and I ended up trying to punch it. I succeeded, but I woke up because my fist had actually knocked over a stack of books on the table next to my bed.

Besides that though, whenever I become cognizant of my surroundings as a dream environment I always get overexcited and wake up...and it's a bummer.

      Hahah...sounds most excellent to me!
It's kind of Bad though, I usually realize "Oh, I'm totally dreaming." at the end of one journey or upon being provoked by something.

Hey Bjorn! Great start on the recording of dreams. I've had a journal that focuses from 2004 to 2007, but I lost it. can you believe it? (It has to be around here somewhere...!)

I have not met such a creature. I firmly believe that entity can be used as a dreamsign to gain lucidity even more than you have achieved thus far. With enough practice you may be able to banish this bad guy and go about your merry lucid way or convert it into a friend. Hey, anything is possible, right? I'm not sure how much you already know but it sounds like you are on the right track.

Enjoy dreamviews and ask any and all questions.

P.S. You may try spinning to change your location or, preferably, focusing in on a dream object to strengthen lucidity.

Thanks for the tips! I remember the only real lucid dream I can recall with ease was when I ended up focusing on an object..good times

Terrible that you lost that journal! I've only had mine for about a year, but if I lost it I'd be crestfallen..so many memories inside, you know? The whole idea of attempting to befriend this thing might work, I hadn't thought of it. Although, the route to banishing for once and for all might be a tad more satisfying, truth be told. Essentially, it's been present for as long as I can recall dreaming. Whenever it enters the scene, light switches don't work, and everything is shrouded in gloom.
