Talking Just joined & want to say hi.

      Hello everyone,

I just joined and want to say hi.

LD Always fascinated me, but I never took the time to explore them. I had only 1 LC when I was like 9 and I never had one since. It was a great & short experience. I am 23 now & I think I’m ready to give the LD a try. I guess I just want to see If I can do it, it sounds so great to be able to dream and know that you dreaming.

I am at work right now, so I will make this one short. There is a lot of info on this forum, about how to accomplish LD & I just want to see if I gat this correct. One of the methods to get the LD and this is the method that I want to try during the weekend, is sleep for about 5-6h then wake up, stay awake for about 40-60min. During that time you do some LD reading then try going back to sleep believing and telling your self that you will have a LD. Did I get this right? If I do accomplish my 1st (forced) LD what are some methods out there to control it? Meaning not loosing it. I am also curious; can people in LD actually control the environment & the surroundings? Or do u just play part of an observer in LD?

      All help is appreciated.

      Thank you.

      Welcome,

and yes thats the MILD with WBTB method. Keep reminding yourself that you're dreaming, so you won't lose lucidity and also touch and feel things, rub your hands or spin. That usually will stabilize the dream. And yes, experienced LDers can control the environment to a great extent. At first you'll most likely play an 'oberserver' but I may be wrong, some people are naturals.

      Hi shotbirds,

Would u say that this is the best beginner method?

To tell u the truth, I am so skeptical about all of this, it sounds almost like magic to me! But it’s also very exiting.

I am new here also, but from what I've learned: You have a better chance of achieving lucidity if you attempt it having slept before hand. I would also recommend keeping a dream journal.

There's no reason to skeptical, just think of it as living your imagination.

I practice the WBTB/WILD method every night, i've had 4 LDs in 4 days now .

MILD/DILD don't seem to go well with me :/, I'm not too good at noticing dream signs

Yeah it's great, I soppose you could call it a real life emulator, if you've ever used a video game emulator, if not nevermind .

Just here to say good luck with your Lucid Dream! It is amazing when you have one. (depending on how lucid you are, you can control practically EVERYTHING. Make people/creatures apear, fly, change the landscape etc.)
      Thanks Insanekid,

WoW I can’t even imagine what a cool experience that must be. Just curious, and this is a question for experienced LD'ers. For the most part are all LD's exiting? Or do u find after having a certain amount of LD its not that fun anymore?

LD's are always exciting (unless they only lasted 5 seconds, which sucks), because there's always something else to do. After all, everything is possible. And even if you do something the same as in your last dream, you can be sure that it will turn out different this time. There's a huge list of things to do in LD's somewhere on these forums, and there is a lucid task of the month game (with separate basic and advanced tasks) too: http://dreamviews.com/community/forumdisplay.php?f=43

April is about to start, and it's going to be a good task.

Also, unless you are a very talented lucid dreamer, you won't get LD's every night so it's always exciting to have another one.
