      Hi Bonnie,

I started getting spontaneous WILDs when I was 16 too. Probably for the same reasons you are, because I didn't get enough sleep. Sleep deprivation is most definitely what's causing your LDs.

Interesting, I figured that might be it.

But I've never really... gotten enough sleep.

Because no matter how much or how often I sleep I am ALWAYS tired.
ALWAYS. Has been that way for several years now.

I don't know how much this will help, but I definitely recommending reading this. Unfortunately, I think I'm one who needs 10 hours of sleep and I've only been getting about 8, so it's caught up with me and now I sleep in because I'm so tired.

I don't know, this is strange. One of my problems is my parents seem to think that I need to be up before 10 during the week. Which may be true, but if I'm going to bed at 2 or 3 in the morning I don't want to get up... not to mention as this article stated I think I have a good amount of 'sleep debt' that needs to be payed off.

I find it funny how our society thinks of sleep as a luxury, and how we can go without it. I can function without sleep, as I'm sure many people can. I don't remember the last time I felt well rested.

I'll have to try this, and tell my parents to bug off, that I just need a few weeks to get myself on a sleeping schedule, because I have no idea how many hours I need a night.

Do you think so? Due to my schedule I often have to go one day a week with no sleep at all and sleep like a bear the next day. It's usually 10 to 12 hours that goes by in a very fast black flash of nothingness. I wish it were otherwise.

Well obviously sleep deprivation doesn't cause LDs for most people. But for some of us it does. I've had enough LDs over the years induced by sleep deprivation to know that this is a contributing factor and the scientific facts about sleep back it up.

I've also discovered that I need at least 9 hours of sleep a night to feel rested. I don't always get that so my sleep schedule ends up being really crazy and inconsistent. I'll only get 5 hours several days in a row then sleep for 12 hours when I get the chance. Plus I've taken to taking naps whenever I feel run-down and have the time.
