I'm sorry I don't know what technique you are talking about. I've referred your question to others on the staff. |

I have been hearing about a technique where you become perfectly relaxed and when you are at that point, you can teach yourself new things like throwing a football or playing the guitar. I only know it as being called self hypnosis and google hasn't been very helpful. If anybody know information on this and/or if it actually works that would be greatly appreciated. |

I think we're going to need more info than that, because I have no clue what that is... |

This guy,, and this guy,
, are mine. BACK OFF!
You can use hypnosis to overcome fear or do something mental, but throwing a football and playing a guitar require muscle memory and coordination. The only way to gain those are to do it physically. |

I know Iadr has been doing a lot of self hypnosis. He does not post very much anymore, but you can probably PM him for some tips. |

Do you have a set routine you follow, Lumi? What kind of relaxation tricks do you use to get into that trance state? |
|
Yes, pretty much. I lie down on a sofa or bed, close my eyes and let them roll upwards a little into a certain spot. I focus on my breathing, and I start to count each breath as I exhale. If I lose my count, I start back at one. I relax both my body and my mind a little more by each breath. I usually start seeing green swirling colors after lying like this for a few minutes, sometimes less. As I notice that I'm no longer feeling my body, or parts of it, and I feel deeply relaxed and comfortable, and "let go", stopping the counting, and focusing on nothing. If any thoughts are running through my head, they will be incoherent and dreamlike. If I'm sleepy and about to enter REM sleep, I will now start to see vivid HI, and I can choose my dream before it starts. (WILD) |

the only reason I was so uninformative is there is already a tute on it. |

my friend knows how to do that. or at least i believe I've heard him refer to self-hypnosis and that the technique is used to be really relaxed, he just made an account here, once i figure out what the name is, i'll tell him to write somethin about it |

There's a self hypnosis technique call MILD as someone already said. |
|
I've had a good amount of experience with hypnosis, and a little with self-hypnosis. I had been getting normally hypnotized (as part of a club at school, so it was for fun, not therapy) for a long time and I became used to the trance state. My hypnotist often used the technique where the "wave of trance" crawls up your body from the feet to the neck and head, which I believe others have mentioned. |

Im reading a book on (self) Hypnosis right now. Im about half-way through it. I cant wait until I finish it and then incorporate what Ive learned from that book into my WILD technique!. |

That sounds really interesting, I might try it somtime. |

Hypnosis has been around for centuries & is very affective for all manner of issues.I really learned a lot from the hypnosis and is excellent for finding root causes of issues- |
